Qualifications    

• Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgy, Materials Science, Engineering, or related field

Certifications and Accreditations

• SAIMM Membership
• Lean Six Sigma
• IPS Certification level 5 – Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply

Experience    

• 5+ years’ experience in sourcing, procurement, or partnerships within the metallurgy or mining industry

Duties    
Product & Supplier Sourcing

• Identify and evaluate new metallurgical products, technologies, and services that align with customer requirements and industry trends.
• Source and onboard suppliers of raw materials, alloys, processing equipment, and metallurgical services.
• Ensure supplier compliance with industry standards, quality assurance, and sustainability practices.

Customer & Stakeholder Engagement

• Engage with customers to understand their technical and operational needs in metallurgy.
• Collaborate with internal technical teams to translate customer needs into sourcing strategies.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, transporters, and service providers.

Strategic Partnership Development

• Identify and develop partnerships with research institutions, technology providers, and logistics companies that support metallurgical innovation and efficiency.
• Negotiate and manage supplier contracts and partnership agreements.
• Monitor supplier performance and ensure alignment with strategic goals.

Operational Coordination

• Work closely with procurement, logistics, and technical teams to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of sourced products and services.
• Resolve supply chain issues related to metallurgical materials and services.

Job Competencies
