    Tertiary Qualifications

    • Matric
    • Logistics or SC Qualification + min 3 years’ experience or; 5-10 years relevant experience in industry with in-depth experience in all job-related requirements listed below.

    Computer Literacy Level

    • 5-years experience and highly effective working knowledge of DSV CargoWRITE or Infor WM10 Warehouse Management System

    Proficient in Excel for data management and reporting

    Job-related Requirements

    • Min 5 years relevant supervisory experience:
    • Health product identification and compliant storage segregation by resultant UN Code and/or MSDS category
    • Consumer and/or Retail product;
    • Specialized packaging for Consumer and/or Retail;
    • High value product requiring specialized processes and storage arrangements;
    • Value added services such as promotional bundling, kitting and re-labeling;
    • Online order management and fulfilment;
    • Operations: Extensive knowledge and hands on skill related to Inbound, Stock Management, Outbound / Order Fulfilment, Return processes, effective Packaging, excellent facility housekeeping (5S) and batch / serial number and expiry control;
    • Stock Management includes: Audits (perpetual and wall to wall), SKU Master maintenance, SKU Consolidation, Slotting (based on ABC analysis, volumetric and product categorization), Space Utilization & Density Measurement, Pick-face Replenishment Strategies, Batch and Serial Number Management, Expiry management (First Expiry First Out), and daily DSV system to Client system variance measurement, investigation and alignment;
    • Problem Solving: Effective Root Cause Analysis, Problem Solving and implementation of Corrective and Preventative Measures;
    • Management: Must be able to do all managerial functions (Planning, Organizing, Leading, Controlling, Monitoring) independently, effectively and reliably;
    • Communication: Must communicate effectively (written and verbal) to manage and meet both internal and external customer expectations;
    • Compliance: Must ensure full site compliance, including the following: DSV Policies, Regulations, Work Instructions, Maintenance Schedule and Local Authority requirements;
    • Stress and Conflict Management: Must have effective techniques and/or skills to manage conflict, cope with stress and work effectively under constant pressure;
    • SHERQ: Internal measurement and auditing of all site processes to ensure stability and improvement in areas of Health and safety, environment and facility compliance/risk mitigation. Knowledge and experience of QMS such as ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001;
    • Commercial: Must have effective commercial acumen and experience to manage Client and Supplier Contracts, SLA’s and Risk;
    • Financial: Must have effective financial acumen to populate budget template, ensure tight cost control and ensure consistent on time revenue collection to meet or exceed budget;
    • HR and IR: Must be able to effectively lead, train, performance measure and performance manage all subordinates to ensure high morale, productivity and retention. This includes advanced knowledge of Industrial Relations and Processes;

    Main Purpose

    • This role will be responsible for the supervision and control of all warehousing process and procedures. Ensuring Material Handlers and Team Leaders are carrying out their responsibilities as per their job profile and the relevant inbound/outbound Work Instructions are being followed.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Ensure daily stock on hand alignment between DSV and client systems, and immediate investigation and CAPA for any variances;
    • Control the risks associated with receiving/put-away/dispatch of stock
    • Monitor and correct the inadequate or inappropriate picking/dispatch, to meet the demands of sales e.g. stock shortage.
    • Allocation, management and prioritization of picking waves in line with business requirements
    • Work balancing between waves to ensure optimal productivity and efficiency is achieved
    • Monitoring and follow up on Urgent, Quick Replenishment and other priority orders
    • Control the security over picking areas which could result in loss, theft or misappropriation, etc.
    • Ensure all tracking and issuing of daily/ weekly and monthly reporting
    • Control, action, investigate and complete CAPA document’s if need be, this includes but is not limited to nil picks, error percentages, KPI requirements, etc.
    • Ensure processes are followed throughout the operation
    • Create and maintain various reports in line with KPI’s
    • Adherence to housekeeping and HSE compliance and responsibilities
    • Conduct daily/weekly/monthly Department Inspections
    • Review and update processes and workflows as required in area of responsibility
    • Monitoring and follow through of HR and IR incidents and requirements
    • Team player, build and maintain team morale
    • Adherence to tasks not stipulated in job profile i.e. audit compliance, adhoc duties due to operational requirements
    • Manage and oversee people in both inbound and outbound departments
    • Report any operational incidents to the operations manager
    • Ensure weekly housekeeping reports by team leaders are completed
    • Ensure all operational KPI’s are maintained
    • Through maintenance of the KPI’s ensure the SLA between service provider and client is adhered to
    • Practice and implement continuous improvement
    • Assist operations manager in matters pertaining to the daily running’s and upkeep of the operation
    • Implement and track training of admin/operational staff with assistance of operations manager
    • Practice and adhere to OHS standards
    • Follow processes/work instructions as laid out for the inbound and outbound sectors and ensure staff also practice correct work instructions
    • Perform stock take as and when required by the client
    • Attend management meetings
    • Maintain the required standards and performance of staff
    • Address staff issues (i.e. time and attendance, day to day queries) and elevate to Operations Manager when necessary
    • Rectify non-performance/poor behavior
