    Supply Chain Assistant

    Key areas of responsibility:

    • Planning of production in alignment with customer demands & procurement of direct /indirect materials & services.
    • Coordinate with all departments and contract manufacturing operations (CMOs) to ensure adequate supply and efficient movement of materials.
    • Manage daily activities with customer , production and track gap of production plan.
    • Manage material availability & incoming material from suppliers.
    • Forecast plans for anticipated materials requirements as per customer (CDG) orders.
    • Liaise with customer (CDG) regarding their demand/ requirements.
    • Using customer demand draw up and execute production plan as per production capacity and availability of materials.
    • Get approval from customer (CDG)and ETA once production plan has been finalised.
    • Update customer weekly on production plan & dispatch of finished goods.
    • Using finalised production plan data and inputting data into MRP system.
    • Using data from MRP system to determine raw & packaging materials quantity to be ordered.
    • Send out request for quotations to suppliers as per approved vendor lists.
    • Review and authorize purchase orders once printed from SAGE/SAP and input data on MRP system to track orders and deliveries from suppliers.
    • Follow up with suppliers regarding late or outstanding deliveries.
    • Ensure that suppliers deliver correct stock with all relevant documents as per SOP (COA’s COC’s & MSDS)
    • All stock sheets and paperwork handed in so that stock can be removed from the ERP system.
    • Assist with supplier negotiations & pricing improvements.
    • Ensure timeous dispensing of materials as per RMO & PMO to all manufacturing Plants.
    • Arrange collection via Transport Company of finished goods from all manufacturing sites to CDG.
    • Ensuring that all new stock has been sampled and released by QA.
    • Conduct stock takes.
    • Oversee & coordinate activities with staff as and when required.
    • Follow up on sampling and release of stock ( raw , packaging & FG)
    • Arrange for samples for 3rd party testing to be sent out.
    • Ensure that QAN’s from stores are correct with all documents for lab sampling.
    • Request for information from suppliers as per requirements from QA team.
    • Ensure that all invoice’s and Pod’s are handed over to finance for payments.
    • All manufacturing documents are received from all manufacturing sites so that stock can be manufactured on ERP system.
    • New credit application form suppliers.
    • Ensure that all FG invoices are according to customer orders and done on time.
    • Ensure all expired stock sheets and paperwork handed in so that stock can be removed from SAGE/SAP.

    Minimum position requirements:

    • Matric/Grade 12 Pass Qualification in Maths & English
    • Diploma/Degree in Supply Chain / Operations Management (NFQ level)
    • Must be familiar with Good Manufacturing Practices
    • At least 2 to 5 years’ in procurement ;supply chain andproduction planning (preferable in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment /FMCG)
    • Focus will be in production planning.
    • Experience and knowledge in ERP systems & computer literacy  (SAP preferable)
    • Experience and knowledge in production systems and in working in a multiple process manufacturing environment
    • Knowledge and practical application of the South African Occupational Health and Safety act 85 0f 1993.
    • Knowledge of the South African Health Products Regulatory Authority guide to Good Manufacturing Practise
    • Experience in working in a Highly Regulated environment
    • Experience in planning of multiple equipment / lines
    • Experience in warehousing with good management skills
