Job Description

• Accountable for defining the short and long term strategy across the supply chain in line with business performance vision and leading all employees to deliver brilliant execution.
• Provide strategic leadership across the supply chain to achieve best in class status by being accountable for the team.
• Manage Site Operations at Tier 5 level, to deliver world class performance in all aspects of the balanced scorecard (SQPCDM - Safety, Quality, Productivity, Cost, Delivery & Morale)
• Ensure that all Governance (health & safety, environment, quality and risk) standards are met and drive conformance to regulatory and accreditation standards (e.g., ISO/HACCP etc.)
• Provide outstanding leadership in delivering our ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) – GRAIN TO GLASS goals through improvement projects in Water Efficiency utilization, achieving Zero Net carbon and deploying recyclability initiatives;
• Sponsor the MMS program to drive improvements in performance, standards, capabilities, and asset care across all sites.
• Demonstrates leadership, functional and process expertise in the field of direct operations
• To ensure that Diageo Supply provides the required quantities of product at the right quality, on time and in full to all its customers, safely and in an environmentally responsible way.
• To deliver all innovation and renovation effectively to plan, whilst continuing to drive down COGS through more effective procurement, manufacturing, and distribution.
• To ensure that people are being developed to provide effective succession planning.
• Lead the Diageo Supply Leadership Team and contribute significantly on the Executive leadership team of Diageo to fully maximize the South Africa opportunity for Diageo. Ensuring financial and KPI targets are met by supply chain function
• Sponsor, lead, and drive engagement for the implementation of the MMS journey and MMS practices in the areas of Performance, Standards, Capabilities and Asset care, relentlessly promote continuous improvement.
• Role model the leading and management of change - painting a compelling vision of the future.
• Drive discipline in adherence to global standards across functions.
• Identify opportunities to leverage best practice sharing from other areas quickly and mandate its application.
• Build and maintain effective relationships with our local and overseas suppliers, our 3rd party suppliers, and external customers. Challenges include reducing lead times & inventory, inventory management, quality of local suppliers, service delivery through hauliers of varying capability and a poor quality road network and poor IT systems.
• Build and maintain effective partnerships with internal stakeholders including Diageo demand partners to leverage scale that drives value in the overall business.
• Engage, lead, and develop people in the business by releasing their potential. Develop ‘world class performance’ (for quality, safety, environment, service, cost & flexibility) and create opportunities for competitive advantage across Diageo. Drive a culture of continuous improvement.
