Supply Chain Supervisor at Bayer

Role purpose

•  Plan and manage supply chain operations related to supply planning, importation, warehousing, inventory management, transport logistics and distribution of vegetable seed in South Africa.
•  Implement outstanding customer service strategies aimed at enhancing customer experience and drive business.

Key responsibilities and tasks

•  Lead sales & operations planning (S&OP) at country level in liaison with commercial and marketing teams to ensure commercial budgets are met.
•  Design effective communication, collaboration and feedback mechanisms with local and international teams including preparation of daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly reports.
•  Follow upon stock transfer orders (STOs) for timely seed delivery.
•  Ensure Import and Exports are managed efficiently.
•  Maintain compliance with all regulatory requirements including application of import permits and letters of authorization for importation of seed.
•  Monitor management of inventory at distribution center including SAP system movements, cycle counts, quality testing and scrapping.
•  Support Lead in preparing & reviewing budgets for the distribution center and manage expenses within budgets.
•  Provide outstanding customer services and ensure customer satisfaction and DC management including assets management, and QMS implementation.
•  Effective handling of customer complaints in conjunction with the technical and quality teams.
•  Ensure adherence to HSE standards and corporate policies
•  Lead operationally the SC team in Distribution Center and Customer Service to ensure business continuity

Experience, Skills and Qualifications

•  Demonstrated experience in supply chain, international trade, sales order processing, warehousing & inventory control and logistics management.
•  Know ledge of product supply processes and related systems, Computer literacy and SAP.
•  Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
•  Ability to work effectively in a global, team based and matrix environment (cross functional, cross cultural).
•  Root-cause analysis skills and improvement mindset.
•  Be fluent in English, Afrikaans advantageous
