Position Summary
The main purpose of this position is to build supply/ production plans respecting the agreed level of available capacity to ensure that finished goods are available with high freshness, at the right stock location to meet customer demand whilst minimizing cost.
A day in the life of a Supply Planner
Supply planning: Analyze and evaluate the supply plan and net despatch requirements to satisfy customer needs taking into account the network complexity and the supply constraints. Responsible for 18 months production plans for the factory in the scope.
Load planning: Plan and optimize mixed loads taking into account transportation constraints.
Inventory Management: Balance the need for product availability versus the need to minimise costs of inventory to ensure optimum stocks of the right material in the right location.
Establish stock policies for Finished Goods. To do this for Inter Market Supply together with Planners of Receiving Markets. Periodically review the stock level of the domestic and the receiving markets to pro-actively look for solutions in case of deviations.
Contribute to cross functional planning activities such as MPR according to Best Practice and Planning Cycle, through maintaining updated production plans in APO for all SKUs in scope.
Actively supports the Strategic Volume Planning process (i.e. Capex Planning)
What will make you successful
Three or more years of relevant operational experience at market/business level is useful, in the following areas:
Production Planning
Supply Network Planning / IMS Planner
Other Demand & Supply Planning positions
SAP experiance
Tertiary qualification – degree or national diploma in Industrial Engineering or B-Tech or an equivalent where Planning, Logistics was one of the majors.
