Support Engineer - Citrix - Cape Town at Datacentrix

• The successful candidate will provide cloud infrastructure, data center software and end user computing support. Must have patch management experience as well as experience in Cloud Services: Azure, AWS, Google cloud, VMware vSphere, MS Hyper-V, Nutanix AHV, Citrix Virtualisation, Backups in Veeam, Backup Exec and Monitoring in N-Central, SCOM, PRTG, WhatsUp, Solarwinds, Nagios, Quest.

Requirements:

• Own vehicle and valid drivers licence
• Grade 12 and relevant IT Qualification
• CCA-V or similar
• At least 5 + years’ supporting Citrix
• Certification in MCSE, VCP, CCE, HPE (DC) (end User), DELL (DC) (end user), VMWare, VEAAM
• Experience supporting either Hyper-V, VMware or Nutanix AHV
• Good understanding of Citrix and Microsoft server infrastructure
• Ability to identify and understand problems, and find suitable solutions
• Conscious of delivering solutions on time
• Ability to clearly articulate problems and solutions with the technical team
• Self-managed

Server Support experience in the following technologies:

• Cloud Services: Azure, AWS, Google cloud
• Virtualisation: VMware vSphere, MS Hyper-V, Nutanix AHV
• Citrix Virtualisation
• Application Delivery Controllers: F5, Citrix, FortiADC
• Operating Systems: All Microsoft & Linux
• MS infrastructure: Active Directory, Exchange, SQL, SCCM
• Backups: Veeam, Backup Exec
• Monitoring: N-Central, SCOM, PRTG, WhatsUp, Solarwinds, Nagios, Quest
• Antivirus: McAfee, ESET, Symantec, Kaspersky

Overall Responsibilities:

Support Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops

• Support Citrix Application Delivery Controllers
• Support Citrix DaaS
• Proactive Citrix support via Goliath monitoring
• Proactive analysis and reporting on Citrix system health
• Patch management of Citrix systems
• Assist with escalations from 1st and 2nd line support
• Provide 3rd line datacentre software support
• Preventative maintenance (Patch management)
• Remediate issues identified by audit and monthly reporting
• Technologies include (but not limited to)

• Virtualisation: VMware vSphere, MS Hyper-V, Nutanix AHV
