Switchboard Operator – REF: JW398EX/2025 at Johannesburg Water

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Attend to incoming calls and redirect the calls to the relevant personnel daily. Answer and transfer calls to relevant extension, daily. Handle a constant flow of irate customers. Report faulty lines. Make outgoing calls on behalf of staff.
• Welcome walk-in customers daily, establish the cause of the problem and refer them to the relevant managers. Audit complaints on SAP, daily. Sign for received deliveries and forward to the relevant staff.
• Monitor incoming fax. Take monthly readings for the fax and copy machine and send them to the service provider. Monitor the use/abuse of the copier and fax.

JOB REQUIREMENTS: ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• Grade 12 (NQF 4)
• Minimum 1-year experience in an office environment. Relevant switchboard and reception skills.
• Good command of written and spoken English
