    Talent Acquisition Specialist - Africa

    About The Role:

    • We currently have an opportunity for a Talent Acquisition Specialist to join the Kerry APMEA (Asia Pacific, Middle East & Africa) Talent Acquisition team, based out of Kerry’s office in Hillcrest, Durban, South Africa. Kerry also has a manufacturing site based at Hammarsdale so the successful candidate will need to be available to travel to the manufacturing site as and when needed for interviews / meetings.
    • With the support of a wider regional TA team, you will get to manage the end-to-end recruitment for our Africa locations (South Africa, Nigeria, Kenya, Cameroon, Rwanda, Uganda and Tanzania), predominantly at non-managerial level, but at times contributing to some senior level hiring. Working closely with senior stakeholders and your other HR colleagues, your focus will be to recruit for immediate / planned / project requirements; to build a strong talent pipeline for the business; and to develop and promote the Employer Brand. 

    The scope of the role will include supporting recruitment activities in the following functions / areas:

    • Integrated Operations – supporting functions such as Manufacturing, Engineering, QHSE, Supply Chain and Procurement
    • Operator Recruitment
    • Corporate Functions – supporting functions such as Finance, HR, ICT
    • Commercial, Marketing and Research & Development functions

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Manage a diverse portfolio of junior- and mid-career level vacancies - sourcing, headhunting, screening, assessing and advising
    • Adopt a hands-on role in the end-to-end recruitment cycle. With Hiring Managers, you will be helping to drive the definition of role requirements, identifying the most appropriate recruitment channels, screening / interviewing / assessing candidates, and monitoring pipelines through to negotiation and candidate acceptance.
    • Implement creative recruitment strategies to meet hiring demands across the business - using various recruitment methods as appropriate - job boards, LinkedIn, networking, referrals, university relations, etc.
    • Work closely with the regional HR teams to assess internal talent, to review and assist with future talent moves, to participate in brainstorming and strategy sessions, to advise on offers and facilitate smooth pre-boarding of candidates
    • Build strategic relationships with the leadership team, bringing updates, insight and market intelligence – communicate challenges / opportunities / ideas!
    • Build strong, external, strategic relationships in order to promote Kerry as an Employer of Choice – develop and maintain fruitful working relationships with our preferred external partners / vendors
    • Maintain candidate and requisition data accurately on the global ATS - SuccessFactors. Be responsible for accurate and timely reporting when required by the Senior Executive team. Keep Projects and Notes up to date on LinkedIn Recruiter.
    • Report and measure the impact / return-on-investment of various activities including spend, agency usage, recruitment campaigns and various recruitment metrics
    • Support / upskill people managers in relation to process, systems, interviewing techniques, etc. as required
    • Work cross-functionally to promote our Employer Brand and always represent Kerry in the best possible way
    • Ensures BBBEE compliance by ensuring that all necessary records are filed and conducts monthly BBBEE, EE, SD compliance audits
    • Co-ordinates and compiles WSP and ATR, discretionary grant funding application
    • Assist with other ad hoc duties / projects on occasion

    Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

    • Minimum Bachelors’ degree preferred
    • Minimum 5 years’ dedicated recruitment experience – will consider either agency experience or previous in-house experience
    • Experience partnering with managers, interviewers and team members throughout the recruitment process
    • Preference shown for those candidates who have recruited for / in Manufacturing environments in the past, and who have handled volume / operator recruitment
    • Must have competency-based interviewing experience
    • Must be well organised and place great emphasis on quality but also quick delivery, with a sense of urgency
    • Must display a passion for recruitment with an innovative, creative, collaborative attitude
