    Talent Analyst

    Job Purpose

    To work on data projects specific to the Talent team & leverage data science expertise (e.g., big data, advanced statistics, data wrangling, data mining, data analysis, predictive modelling, storytelling, data visualization, machine learning, AI, data intuition) to operationalise & continuously improve people and talent data solutions that deliver relevant, quality assured, accurate & commercially impactful data. To design solutions and deliver effective user-centric and intuitive analytics tools and dashboards for key talent and HR. Further, to help provide operational support on Talent projects and talent development activities to ensure effective delivery of the Talent strategy. 

    Job Responsibilities

    • Leverage understanding of the HR business area and collaborate with multiple stakeholders across the HR Value Chain (product owners, cluster HR etc.), Service Management, Technology and the Business to identify the people data challenges and requirements to be solved.
    • Proactively partner with the technology (data engineers, BW specialists and data architects) to refine data requirements and develop technical solutions to deliver raw data for analysis and interpretation. Ensure sustainable data delivery to meet the ongoing people data and analytics requirements of the product and service area
    • Design fit for purpose people data interpretation & analysis approaches & create customized data models, algorithms, machine learning tools and recommendation engines to achieve the desired business outcomes
    • Derive descriptive and predictive people analytics and insights and translate these in the language of business directing clear recommendations and implications for workforce optimization and workforce experience
    • Deliver an exceptional workforce experience by empowering HR Product Owners, Employees, Line Managers and business leaders with relevant, timely, accurate data driven insights that is used for business decision making
    • Use storytelling and data visualization techniques to maximize impact & deliver a user friendly, commercially relevant data product (reports, insights, dashboards etc.) to business
    • Promote data literacy across the enterprise by sharing best practices and coaching the HR community on the value and impact of powerful data
    • Maintain HR data tools, reporting, and dashboards.
    • Produce and deliver standard (monthly, quarterly, and annual) and customized HR reports.
    • Respond to HR data requests on an ad hoc basis by gathering, analyzing, and reporting relevant data from various sources.
    • Maintain HR data integrity by ensuring the accuracy and consistency of input data. Audit HR data and troubleshoot irregularities. Support data governance processes.
    • Human Capital Reporting and Analysis, focuses on trends in headcount, diversity turnover/retention, mobility, talent management, recruitment, competitive landscape and career progression.

    • Conduct external benchmarking on key metrics, analytics practices and tools
    • Create and proactively update Talent Management materials such as PowerPoints, toolkits, intranet pages, electronic forms and more.
    • Run necessary project and performance management reports
    • Provide support in setting up surveys and assist with talent metric analyses for necessary projects
    • Coordinate dates with different teams as they relate to Talent Management and development programs, onboarding, etc.
    • Capture and analyse data received from learning sessions
    • Managing inductions for participants and liaising with heads of departments and other key staff to ensure participants are properly introduced to the programme 
    • Ensure project trackers are up to date, follow up with team members working on projects
    • Assist in various Talent Management Projects as needed – putting together materials, formatting, etc.
    • Helping develop and maintain processes and systems for effectively communicating information about projects and talent development activities
    • Ensuring there is a useful, coherent, well managed experience for all individuals participating in the programmes ensuring mutual benefit to participants and company.
    • Run site and company inductions for a range of participants and ensuring they feel fully briefed before beginning an activity 
    • Helping ensure our talent development programme is delivering its learning objectives and outcomes for participants
    • Monitor, evaluate, or record training activities or program effectiveness.
    • Obtain, organize, or develop training procedure manuals, guides, or course materials, such as handouts or visual materials.

    Minimum Experience Level

    • 1 + years’ experience in analytics, BI, reporting, data visualisation etc. with some demonstrated people data & analytics / cross domain HR experience
    • 1 + years’ experience manipulating data sets and building statistical models with at least 1-2 of these years working in people data & analytics 
    • 1+ years of HR experience; professional services industry experience is preferred
    • Strong MS Office skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
    • Proficiency in advanced Excel techniques, including v-lookup, macros and other “cleanup” methods to help focus on data integrity
    • Familiarity with performance management and HRIS systems
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as critical thinking and creative skills
    • Meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational skills with proven ability to prioritize and complete projects within deadlines
    • A proactive attitude and an ability to work with limited supervision in a fast-paced environment
    • Flexibility, high energy, and a positive attitude
    • Ability to understand and communicate the meaning of the analysis with individuals in a wide range of strategic and executional roles, in written and oral form, with intuitive understanding of what the analysis implies and how it would be affected by changes in assumptions

    Essential Qualifications - NQF Level

    • Advanced Diplomas/National 1st Degrees

    Preferred Qualification

    • Bachelor's / Honors/ Master's Degree in Statistics, Business, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Finance, Human Resources, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Science, Engineering
