    Team Lead: Design

    Purpose Of The Role

    • The Design Leads roles focus areas will be on technical skills, support, but also people management. Reporting to the Design Manager, you will be leading a team of talented creative designers of all experience levels. You will have extensive technical experience allowing for coaching and mentoring of designers, as well as support. You will be required to engage on a 1-2-1 level with designers and be involved and in cases lead performance management. You will not be afraid to roll up your sleeves and lead by example creatively. You will actively provide support and assistance to the design managers. Being a self-starter, a good communicator, design evangelist technically, and the demonstrate the ability to co-manage people and priorities is key to succeeding in this role. You will need to assist, support, create and cross collaborate.

    Duties Include, But Not Limited To

    • Support the design team day to day technically through the software used as well as through processes
    • Provide coaching and mentoring to individual team members through regular and effective 1-2-1’s
    • Set personal objectives for individual team members and ensure learning and upskilling is taking place within your team, this can be done through technical improvement plans
    • Set the standard through design daily and by leading on all design fronts
    • Assist in managing consistency and quality of output from the design team through our internal processes.
    • Assist the leadership team to help develop processes that makes the design team more effective and streamlined
    • Develop strong relationships with stakeholders to be able to facilitate sessions whether they be kickoff, brainstorm or briefing.
    • Lead workshops, knowledge shares as well as retrospective sessions to increase skills and awareness in the team as well as assist in developmental areas
    • When necessary design and implement creative designs and graphics across print and digital campaigns
    • Knowledgeable and comfortable working with brand guidelines and implementing them across channels
    • Maintain a good understanding of betway’s products and the industry we operate in
    • Champion the voice of the customer through your work and understand who designs are being created for, and instil this in the rest of the team
    • Mini Combined Fs and Combined fs with the team monthly as well as every 5 months for the latter

    Essential Criteria

    • Candidates without portfolios/showreels will not be considered
    • Highly skilled and experienced in using Adobe Creative Cloud, HTML 5, After Effects and other creative software
    • Proven experience Leading and developing creative team members
    • Proven experience in leading design projects and ability to see through to completion
    • Have a passion for data driven design
    • Ability to work on and collaborate brands at an international level
    • Strong understanding of designing with data and making data driven decisions
    • Excellent communication and written skills

    Desirable Criteria

    • A keen interest in online gaming and sports
    • A keen interest in keeping up to date with web development trends
    • Working in a cross functional creative team (UI/UX, Copy and content)
