    Role Summary:

    The role focuses on assisting PwC’s clients to navigate technology change, challenges and opportunities and falls within PwC’s technology consulting and transformation team. PwC’s Technology Consulting team is focused on working with our clients to structure and solve technology and IT related issues and exploit opportunities that unlock business performance.

    The Technology Strategy, Transformation and Architecture Consultant forms part of an established team that works with a multitude of clients on activities such as: Architecture baseline and issue definition, simplification and optimisation in the face of business transformation, enterprise technology solution design, IT value delayering, IT strategy definition, cost optimisation and operating model resets.

    The role requires exceptional consulting and relationship skills, the ability to assess and design technology architecture at a capability level, knowledge of technology fundamentals such as IT change delivery, cloud architecture infrastructure concepts, DevOps and integration architectures. Beyond this, the ability to operate at the strategic level is critical, as well as the ability to deliver high quality outcomes in an iterative manner, under pressure.

    Qualifications / Certifications required:

    • Bachelor’s degree that has given you an opportunity to grow your problem-solving skills (Computer Science, Informatics, BSc IT, BSc Eng., BEng or relevant technology discipline).

    • Certifications in TOGAF, Project Management, ITIL or relevant technologies are advantageous, not not required

     

    Experience required:

    • 2-3 years of management or strategic technology consulting experience

    • Must have a technology background and experience in supporting and communicating with executive leaders and an ability to translate complex technical information into understandable content for the right audience

    • Strong understanding of information technology topics, as well as general business concepts and terminologies.

    • IT strategy definition and IT transformation design

    • Technology solution crafting, design, costing, business case analysis

    • Operating model design, transformation planning and commercial analysis

    • Understanding and application of reference architectures, including modern architectural blueprints and trends

     

    Responsibilities of role:

    • Engage and support a multi-skilled technology consulting team in the delivery of services on delegated client engagements/ projects in order to bring insightful and pragmatic strategic guidance and solutions.

    • Deliver complex IT strategy, architecture review and design, technology solution design and business case delivery tasks

    • Investigate, analyze and bring new technologies and techniques to our clients, through innovative engagements, which have the potential to transform and improve their current IT architecture and processes

    • Assist the technology consulting management team to identify and solve the most important client issues, while outlining opportunities that maximize value by conducting rigorous analysis, creating value and delivering world-class IT capabilities/solutions to support their strategic business needs

    • Take responsibility to complete analysis, design and transformation planning outcomes across architecture, commercial, strategy, technology solution design, business case and operating model design tasks

    • Analyse, design and deliver complex IT architecture taks to build insights into operations, diagnose issues and opportunities and outline hypotheses and business cases for architecture transformation

    • Managing deliverables with self-direction and a commitment to quality.

    • Build knowledge of, and research the current IT environment and industry IT trends to evolve the Technology Consulting Strategy as and when needed.

    • Support execution of key projects, including engaging in proposal writing, workshop facilitation sessions and proposal documentation for our clients.

     

    Skill sets required:

    • A comprehensive understanding of enterprise technology models, architectures, operating model structures, processes, tools and notable trends and challenges

    • Overview of common development methods and tools, DevOps, Cloud models and key enterprise technology processes

    • Knowledge of the requirements to managed architectural debt and constant modernisation of the enterprise architecture

    • Deep understanding of different integration patterns and best practices

    • Outstanding problem solving and decision-making skills.

    • Ability to communicate effectively, in both written and verbal formats, with senior executive-level leaders.

    • Works independently while keeping management informed.

    • Ability to elicit requirements in order to document client’s requirements and needs.
