    Technical Assistant

    Position Summary

    In this role you will be responsible to plan, direct and control mechanical aspects of processing plant engineering operations to ensure operational efficiency of all Packaging Equipment/Machines and installations to fulfil the production programme.

    A day in the life of a Technical Assistant:

    • Engineering / installation of varying degrees of complexity within disciplines of a factory site.
    • Engineering data management against maintenance of plant & equipment, expenditure control and effectiveness of M&R performed.
    • Project management control and fixed asset register data management.
    • Ensures that data and best practices for the respective functional area is accurate, complete, and up to date.
    • Collaborates in establishing M&R budget, the relevant engineering operational plan budget, assist in Capex budget and long-term plan.
    • Effective control of the budgets.
    • Effective maintenance through SAP/AMM system for machines, buildings, and safety
    • Effective shutdowns programs are set up as well as unforeseen emergency breakdowns are handled correctly.
    • Responsible for the safe operation of the plant and the safety of personnel.
    • Ensure new installations of plant or equipment takes place as per Capex budget.
    • Determine training needs of staff and manage performance of staff.
    • Manage Performance of own staff.
    • Approve annual leave schedules of own staff, Discipline and Grievance handling.
    • Assist in new installations of plant or equipment takes place as per Capex Budget.

    What will make you successful?

    • Engineering and/or Management qualification (Degree/ N6, GCC Factory and added advantage)
    • In-depth knowledge of packaging Machines
    • 3-5 Years of experience in FMCG in Management position
    • MS Office Suite literacy.
    • Proficiency with SAP.
    • Valid, unendorsed driver’s license.
