    Technical Sales Manager

    Job Description

    The Technical Sales Manager will be responsible for the following:

    • Develop LPT business within the Sub Saharan Africa by developing the Distributor and Partner network and direct marketing
    • Seek out and target new customers and new sales opportunities.
    • Develop and initiate action plans to approach and secure new business for LPT.
    • Identify new potential applications for LPT products.
    • Develop strategy, tactics, sales plans and profit targets.
    • Assist to build and expand the business with LPT products by providing technical expertise with the support from specialists in Europe.
    • Develop connections with local OEMs and support their activities by providing basic (chemical) plant design criteria and support in optimisation test work and piloting.
    • Manage and assist Distributors to achieve annual set targets and to fulfil LPT's long term growth strategy in the area.
    • Provide regular information to LPT HQ on the current business and participate and agree on the yearly budget definition.
    • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks and participating in professional societies.
    • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing predicted sales results to ensure LPTs expected performance.
    • Manage LPTs monthly sale predictions to be as accurate and realistic as possible by interacting with clients and Distributors to ensure their predictions are incorporated.

    The Successful Applicant

    The candidate will need to have the following in order to apply:

    • Degree or diploma in the field of Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or Extraction Metallurgy - non negotiable
    • Experience in chemical sales and business development in a highly technical environment.
    • Experience in Research and Technical developments in hydro-metallurgy / extractive metallurgy.
    • Experience in the water-treatment or minerals processing / extraction sectors.
    • Experience in specific food applications such as sugar de-colourisation, starch de-ashing, etc.
    • Specific experience with IER(Iron Exchange Resin_ non negotiable
    • Minimum 5 years proven Sales and Negotiation skills.
    • Sales Experience is essential
