Ensure effective execution of assigned work
To ensure a logical process is followed in order to identify faults and to rectify these according to agreed standards
To ensure the quality of work performed prior to distributing item to customer
To determine repairs to be performed on particular items and distribute these to relevant area to be repaired
To contribute to the team to ensure the achievement of divisional and team goals
To ensure that work and production areas are clean and tidy and easily accessible at all times
Ability to Test, Fault-find, Log in failures, rectify/adjust and update job status on ERP orders ensuring that delivery due dates are met.
Testing and fault finding of LRU and sub assembly level
Testing and fault finding of analogue and digital circuitry up to component level
Installs, maintains, calibrates and repairs basic electronic equipment where required
Generate feedback information, highlighting technical problems encountered on equipment for corrective action to be taken
Support the Team leader in meeting departmental goals
Adhere to all applicable regulations, policies and procedures, health & safety, and environmental compliance.
Observing and maintaining shelf life of materials, 5's, ESD, FOD and other lean and manufacturing principles.
Ability to use processes and procedures as documented in executing Testing of parts i.e SRU's and LRU's.
Ensure proper use and safekeeping of tools, test equipment and special jigs used in execution of duties
Identifies any problems and potential solutions and troubleshoots the issues using technical knowledge in a methodical manner.
Analyse test information to identify and resolve design-related problems.
Create MRB’s in system when any failures are experienced. Generate Inspection Test Failure reports where failures occurred
Driving to achieve targets set by Team leader on daily basis.
Prepare production documents, such as standard operating procedures, manufacturing batch records, inventory reports, or productivity reports. Ensure these are updated to the latest manufacturing revision status; and Part operations is correct
Ensure that accurate operational times are recorded
Perform quality work within the standard time allocated.
Transfer hazardous or non-hazardous waste materials to collection areas for disposal, recycling, or reuse.
Continuous identification of more cost-effective production methods and processes and reduction in scrap and reworks, increased output. Control and minimize waste of materials and consumables.
Plan and schedule own work in order to meet the production plan
Timeous signing-off Documentation files after completion of work as a commitment to quality standards
Ensure that all testing equipment are appropriately calibrated
Adjust or replace defective or improperly functioning circuitry or electronics components, using relevant tools
Maintain inventory of job materials/consumables and floor stock.
Provide advice or training to junior technicians as required
Your profile
We are looking for a qualified technician who has the ability to Test, Fault-Find, Log-in failures and update job status on ERP orders to ensure that customer deliveries are met. Support the Team Leader in meeting departmental goals in terms of quality, within cost and timeous deliveries.
Required skills:
Ability to read blueprints, schematic drawings, and engineering instructions for assembling electronic units. Write reports and record data on testing results
Understands and applies configuration processes.
Knowledge of the practical application of analogue and digital designs, this includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and technical know-how in troubleshooting.
Achieves and maintains a high level of technical and professional skills/knowledge in job-related areas. Keeps abreast of current developments and trends in their area of expertise. Achieves required results in specific technical/professional areas.
Must be able to understand the functionality of Test Equipment/Instrumentation and utilise them in Testing & fault-finding of SRU (Shop Replaceable Units) and LRU (Line Replaceable Units).
Knowledge of the practical application of analogue and digital designs. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures and technical know-how in troubleshooting.
Knowledge of the Company's SOPS and execution thereof
Ability to read electronic circuit diagram, analyse and use it for fault finding. Logical and systematic analysis of circuitry
Desired skills:
Overall testing on 3 to 4 Projects
Qualification:
N6/ National Diploma / BTech Electrical / Electronic Engineering
