Purpose of the Position
To build and develop strategic trusted relationships with relevant stakeholders to facilitate the delivery of a world-class HR service. In addition, the incumbent will need to support the business’ vision, values, and overall objectives whilst ensuring alignment to the HR strategy and people practices.
Key Performance Areas would include, but are not limited to:
Managing an effective and efficient HR and employee relations function to the business to support the overall business plans
Managing all recruitment and talent review processes with due consideration to both the employment equity process and talent management process
Facilitating the effective onboarding & induction of new staff members
Supporting the implementation of Career & Individual Development Plans
Driving continuous evolution of up-skilling techniques and initiatives, through implementing the training and development plan in line with training budgets and timing requirements
Ensuring effective communication with relevant stakeholders including Shop stewards and Union Officials.
Facilitating the Performance Management process and driving the completion of goal setting. As well as assisting managers with one-on-one interactions and the managing of underperformance
Ensuring that all relevant legislative requirements are adhered to in order to minimise risk for the business
Ensuring all relevant HR metrics and statistical reporting requirements are accurate and submitted timeously
Ensuring HR System integrity is maintained at all times through accurate data capturing and regular audits
Supporting all strategic and ad-hoc projects as and when required
Racking regional Employment Equity figures and proposing corrective initiatives where required
Facilitating change management/employee engagement initiatives
Provide leadership to the HR Team, building capability in order to improve the contribution made to the business
The successful candidate must have the following qualification, skills, and experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in human resources, Industrial Psychology, Commerce, or similar
At least 5 years HR Generalist experience at a management level, with exposure to all facets of HR and a proven record of sound Business Partnering capability
Proven Commercial Acumen and experience in the Sales and Distribution environment (FMCG / Manufacturing experience will be an advantage)
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Analytical and problem-solving skills, with high attention to detail
Computer literacy – MS Office, SAP, and people management systems
Sound knowledge of the relevant Labour Laws and conflict management skills
Good planning and organizing skills
Highly organised, self-motivated, a disciplined, and strong sense of confidentiality
Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel throughout the region, sometimes at short notice
Willingness to work in trade (and on occasion after hours)
