Degree or Diploma in any of the following therapy professions: Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Social Work or Speech Therapy
Registered with the HPCSA / SACSSP with knowledge of the ICF framework.
3 years plus relevant experience working within an interdisciplinary team in a rehabilitation setting.
At least 2 years in a leadership position
Experience coordinating patient journeys within a rehabilitation setting will be advantageous.
Computer literacy with strong administration and organizational skills.
People coaching and leadership skills required
KEY COMPETENCIES
To be involved/responsible for therapeutic rehabilitation functions (oversight of all therapists)
Be an active member of the onsite hospital management team
Showing competence in identifying problems, along with active involvement in well-directed solution finding in daily tasks and operations
Demonstrates attuned working knowledge of the interprofessional relationships of Speech, Occupational, Physical therapy, or other rehabilitation disciplines in patient care
Ability to work in collaboration with patient, other health care providers (internal and external) and family members of patients to support clinical quality and client centeredness
Demonstrates good planning, organizational and interpersonal skills necessary to maintain a safe, orderly and goal-directed work environment for self and the therapy team
To plan and conduct IDT team meetings; report and FIM auditing for medical funder submissions
To assist the therapy team with applications for provision of additional upskilling and therapy equipment needs
To support the treating team in facilitating and guiding the respective patients individualized rehabilitation journey
To be accountable for the final decisions (in consultation with the treating team) regarding the therapeutic journey- exhibiting acknowledgement and consideration of different views regarding holistic treatment of patients
Oversee people management and foster adherence to code of conduct within the therapy team
Actively participate in establishing and maintaining professional relationships with the referrer community (all external professionals)
