    Vice President: Partnerships


    MFS Africa is the leading digital payments hub in Africa, enabling low-cost payments across the continent. The company works in close partnership with mobile network operators and financial institutions to bring simple and relevant payment services to unbanked people. MFS Africa connects over 320 million mobile money users across sub-Saharan Africa through its platform – the MFS Hub.     The Role

    We are looking for a Vice President who will partner with and ensure the long-term success of our various MTO (Money Transfer Organizations) partners. The ideal candidate should have at least 7 years of experience, with at least 4 years’ experience in nurturing and growing relationships in their portfolio of assigned clients, ideally within the payments / remittance industry.

    They should be able to work fast, think outside the box and enjoy getting things done. The role is best suited for those who have experience liaising with C-level clients, pulling internal teams together and are able to build lasting relationships internally and externally.

    The position will report to the Global Head: MTOs and can be based in either: Johannesburg, South Africa or London, United Kingdom.

    The duties and responsibilities of the role will be as follows:

    • Develop and maintain strong strategic relationships with key decision-makers across MFS Africa’s top MTO partners to further MFS Africa’s strategic goals

    • Build, manage, and close a sales pipeline of top tier MTO opportunities

    • Oversee the sales process from lead development to contracting to on-boarding to account growth

    • Work closely with MTO partners to fulfil their strategy, grow their payout network, and ultimately grow their business by helping them expand to new regions

    • Act as the client’s advocate within MFS Africa and work with internal teams (e.g. Compliance, Finance, Operations, Product, Marketing) on partner needs, future enhancements and to solve any issues that arise

    • Bringing together the right colleagues across the business to solve problems

    • Work closely with the Global Head: MTOs to develop and execute account plans and strategies

    • Achieve account and company revenue targets

    • Have excellent communication skills, both written and oral, and the ability to pitch / present MFS Africa to potential partners

    • Have good business acumen, outstanding negotiation skills and are results oriented

    • Thrive in client service roles and work well with people, at all levels of an organization

    • Enjoy seeing growth in your partner’s business and deeply rooting yourself in their organization

    • Enjoy analyzing data and converting it into actionable insights and plans

    • Are very organized and comfortable multitasking in an environment with shifting priorities

    • Have experience working in the payments / remittance industry

    • Can perform under pressure and deliver quality work

    Qualifications and experience

    • A relevant qualification in Commerce, Finance, Business Management, Communications, Law, or any other relevant field

    • At least 7 years of experience, with 4 years in the payments and/or remittance industry

    • Experience working with a dispersed global team

    • Pan-African exposure, experience and expertise is a bonus

    • French speaking is a bonus
