VIP Chauffer/Messenger at South African National Parks (SANParks)

• A vacancy currently exists for an VIP Chauffer/Messenger position at Groenkloof National Park in the facilities Department. The successful candidate will report to the Supervisor: Corporate Mail & Print Services.

Requirements

• Grade 12.
• 2 – 3 years’ work experience as a Professional Messenger/ Driver.
• Valid driver’s license with PrDP.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to Occupational Health and Safety regulations.
• Ensuring that the safety measures at the workplace are adhered to.
• Compliance with SANParks Fleet regulations by ensuring the safety measures at the workplace.
• Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspection, identifying and reporting safety defects.
• Follow and maintain drives code of conduct.
• General driving services daily within operations (Non-executive and Executive Chauffeur duties).
• Maintain the cleanliness of the vehicle.
• Reporting all the vehicle defects; incident or accident.
• Daily control over fuel and oil stock levels of the vehicles.
• Perform ad hoc duties such as overtime, standby and others.
• Transportation of school pupils and members of the public when required.
• Transportation of postage, light goods, branding products and official documentations (Executive Agendas, Reports and Manuals).
• Taking responsibility of goods and information confidentiality.
• Keep records of postage (received and/or delivered), shipment and consignment items.
• Keep records of traffic infringement/ fines, fuel and tolls slips.
• Ensure completion of the driver log sheet and vehicle trip permit.
• Manage annual maintenance schedules and monthly inspections of vehicles.
• Perform other administrative duties i.e. printing, collating and binding functions.
• General administration.

• The remuneration package includes a basic salary aligned with the Paterson B5 job grade, along with applicable allowance and benefits and outlined in SANParks HR Tariff Document and Conditions.
• Appointment will be in accordance with EE plan targets.
