    Financial Administration Clerk (SCM)

    Salary

    • R159,158.80 – R217,563.68 Annual Package

    A vacancy exists for a Financial Administration Clerk (SCM) at Golden Gate Highlands National Park. The successful candidate will be responsible for the financial administration for supply chain management in the park. The successful candidate will report to the Supply Chain Management Practitioner and will be based at Golden Gate Highlands National Park.

    Requirements

    • Grade 12
    • NQF level 5 in Supply Chain Management/Accounting/ Logistics/ Public Management/ Public Administration/ Financial Management or Internal Auditing.
    • Minimum of 2-3 year relevant experience in Supply Chain Management/Financial Administration Environment/ Financial Management/ Internal Auditing or equivalent.
    • Computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Packages.
    • Working knowledge of MS Great Plains will be an added advantage.
    • A working knowledge of relevant legislation, including PFMA; PPPFA; National Treasury Regulations; SANParks Policies, General Procurement Guidelines, BBB-EE act and CIDB prescripts.
    • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
    • Applicant must be flexible and have the ability to meet tight deadlines and work without supervision.

    Responsibilities

    • Checking of SCM compliance in line with National Treasury Regulation and SCM Policies and Procedures.
    • Provide administration support in bid/quotation process in line with the Demand Management Plan.
    • Submit SCM Registers on monthly basis to SCM Practitioner.
    • Generate Purchase Orders.
    • To maintain appropriate record of Standard Bidding Documents.
    • Monitoring of SCM Contracts.
    • To check that all received documents adhere to relevant legislation, internal and external finance policies, processes and regulations and send back those incorrectly completed.
    • To keep a record of all received requisitions and invoices.
    • Follow up of outstanding invoices with the relevant end user for generated purchase orders.
    • Perform any other responsibilities as assigned to by the supervisor.

    Field Ranger

    Salary

    R 153,593.79 – R 206,639.15 Annual Package

    • A challenging vacancy currently exists for a Field Ranger at Addo Elephant National Park (Darlington Dam Section). The successful incumbent will report to the Field Ranger Sergeant.

    Requirements

    • A minimum Certificate of Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent NQF Level 4 is required.
    • NQF 2 National Certificate in Conservation Guardianship is required.
    • On the job training following the successful completion of Basic Field Ranger Training is required.
    • National Diploma in Nature Conservation is desirable.
    • Certificate in Resource Guardianship (NQF level 5) or equivalent is desirable.
    • EMI Grade 5 designation (compulsory) or must qualify in stipulated period.
    • One -Two years of relevant experience as Armed Environmental Monitor, Field Guard or within Conservation is needed.
    • Working knowledge of relevant Conservation Legislation.
    • Valid code 8 driver’s license is required.
    • SAPS criminal record to be attached if available.
    • Criminal checks will be done on successful candidate
    • Must be computer literate.
    • Basic technical skills.
    • NQF level 4 Handle and Use a Self-Loading Rifle Firearm Proficiency is required; certificate should be provided.     • Must at least be 60 % physically fit and be prepared to undergo a fitness test before the interview.

    Responsibilities

    • Law Enforcement that will include participating in regular patrols by foot in areas that are inaccessible by vehicle and in difficult, mountainous terrain.
    • Anti-poaching operations throughout Addo Elephant National Park that will require the applicant to work flexi-time, night shift and overtime.
    • Regular clandestine, camping deployments and observation posts in support of antipoaching operations in Addo Elephant National Park.
    • Assist in the control, capture handling and transportation of animals.
    • Follow correct procedures for basic documenting and reporting on law enforcement activities.
    • Assistance with natural resources management that includes the implementation of invasive plant, alien biota and unnatural soil erosion and fire management.
    • Gather information for the implementation of management plans through using electronic devices.
    • Maintain records and prepare reports of work activities.
    • Capturing of field DATA electronically including situational reports.
    • Assistance with the management of the fauna that includes water provision, the control, game capture and transportation of animals.
    • Assist with the control of visitor’s behaviour and access.
    • Assist with the control of EPWP contractors’ movement within the park.
    • Fence patrols and fence maintenance.
    • General maintenance of conservation infrastructure such as generators, pumps, storerooms and including terrain near visitor facilities.
    • Assist with maintenance and management of all assets.

    Job Description

    • A vacancy currently exists for a Clerical (Admin) Environmental Monitor at the Cape Regional Office. This is a fixed term contract ending March 2027. The total remuneration package is a basic salary as per Expanded Public Works Programme rates of R406 per day.

    Requirements

    • Matric/Grade 12/ NCV level 4 certificate.
