Waste Management Coordinator (Waste Advisory): ERWM20675 at City of Ekurhuleni

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree or B-Tech in Environmental Management/Sciences or in related fields (NQF Level 7)
• Valid Code EB Driver's Licence
• 2 - 3 year's relevant experience in a similar environment

Core Responsibilities:

• Ensure the consistent application of Environmental and waste management legislation, including the relevant and applicable municipal by-laws which are directly and/or indirectly dealing with waste management and procedures in activities and developments in the city
• Monitoring programmes for regular compliance, to reduce negative impacts and improve the environment to ensure that applicable national and provincial legislation, regulations and policies pertaining to waste and environmental management are adhered to by the city and its residence
• Manage non-compliance related to waste management activities performed by the division, which are detrimental to the environmental and health of the community to protect the environment and the health of the community
• Ensure that the organisation pursues a systematic, organised approach to managing and implementing its strategy
• Co-ordinate specific administrative and reporting requirements associated with the key performance indicators of the division by ensuring administrative sequences dictate reporting requirements and that approval procedures are complied with and that correspondence is responded to through the provision of accurate information on the activities of the department
• Control operational expenditure, use of facilities, payments of service providers and movement of movable assets to ensure compliance with financial managements policies within the department
• Ensure excellent liaison with stakeholders by ensuring good relations with stakeholders
