Workshop Manager at RCL Foods

The main objective of this position is to optimise the preventative transport maintenance system for heavy commercial vehicles, excavator type cane loaders and various other self-driven equipment thereby facilitating the effective deployment of vehicles in accordance with customer service levels at the lowest cost.

Minimum Requirements:

• National Diploma in Logistics Management
• Minimum 8 years in a transport /fleet management environment, 3 of which at a management level
• 5 years in preventative Maintenance Experience
• 5 years’ experience in SAP environment

Responsibilities:

• Work in conjunction with the Inbound Logistics Manager, Transport Optimisation Specialist, Outbound Transport Manager to create and maintain the vehicle maintenance framework
• Lead Transport workshop operations in the area
• Drive the implementation of improvements in transport and vehicle maintenance to achieve significant gains in efficiencies, fleet down time and cost reduction.
• Risk management ensuring safe operations within the workshop environment.
• Ensure the implementation of transport and vehicle maintenance policies and procedures across workshop operational activities
• Support Logistics Lead with Employee Relation Activities
