TRAINING AND CERTIFICATION PROGRAMS Since 1979, the Network has provided training seminars and workshops for career development professionals throughout the world. Much of the training was offered through university continuing education programs. Some seminars were conducted in business organizations. Others were organized by government agencies. Since 1994, the Network has trained and certified over 6,000 Job & Career Transition Coaches and Job & Career Development Coaches. In 2001, the Network established a Marketing & Business Development seminar for career practitioners in private practice. Since 2007, the Network has been offering Career Development Facilitator training that qualifies graduates to become Global Career Development Facilitators (GCDF) and Global Career Development Facilitator Instructors (GCDFI). CAREER ASSESSMENT INSTRUMENTS Network founder, Richard Knowdell, created four widely used career assessment instruments that have been translated into ten languages. These are the Career Values Card Sort, Motivated Skills Card Sort, Occupational Interest Card Sort and the Leisure/Retirement Activities Card Sort. Originally created in 1977, these instruments were revised and updated in 2004.
