    Space Project Manager x4 - 4 positions

    Description:

    Reporting to the Space Programme Manager, the Space Project Managers combine their project management, systems engineering, and contract management skills with their engineering or scientific expertise to design, develop, and integrate technology solutions to meet the nation's needs and requirements. They are responsible for all aspects of the project, ultimately making sure the project requirements are met within budget and schedule, and that the team members who support the project are properly recognized for the achievement of those goals. They are responsible for the successful planning and implementation of project resources, schedules, and performance objectives. They are also responsible for overall project safety and risk management.

    Key performance areas will include, but are not limited to:

    • Project office planning, operationalization, and management.
    • Planning and Implementation of Projects.
    • Project Documentation.
    • Budget Management Reporting.
    • Sub-Contractor Management.
    • Stakeholder Management.
    • Human Capital Development

    Requirements:

    The ideal candidate must have the following qualifications and experience:

    • Bachelor of Science (Hons) (Electronics/ Mechanical) Degree in engineering.
    • A recognized Project Management qualification will be an added advantage.
    • At least 5 years’ experience in a Technical Project Management role.
    • At least 5 years’ experience in a System Engineering role.
    • Experience in mission-critical systems (Aerospace, Defence, and/or Nuclear) is required.
    • Proficient in the use of Project Management Tools and Systems.

    Contract Management Specialist - 4 positions

    Description:

    Reporting to the Space Programme Manager, the Contracts Management Specialist is responsible for preparing, examining, analysing, negotiating, and revising contracts that involve the acquisition of systems, and for ensuring that financial, time, and deliverable issues are kept under control. They are responsible to the Space Project Manager for providing direction, assessing progress, and assisting them in control of project resources and activities, including budget, schedules, agreements, and overall project management to ensure that project implementation execution is consistent with approved project agreements, budgets, schedules, and acquisition strategies. They also establish and administer the data management activities for a specific program, project, activity, or contract. The Configuration and Data Management Function will assist the Contract Management Specialist in implementing and administering the data management system. Other areas where the Contracts Management Specialist assists the Space Project Managers include management information systems, programmatic reviews, and performance measurement surveillance.

    Key performance areas will include, but are not limited to:

    • Contracts (various: including formal, short form, and annual contracts) – Drafting, Evaluation, Negotiation, and Execution.
    • Contracting Maintenance.
    • Developing contract practices and procedures.
    • Maintain control over Contract finances and insurance.
    • Liaises with: DSI, Main Contractors; Subcontractors; Designers, Users; Quality personnel; and Systems Engineering personnel.

    Requirements:

    The ideal candidate must have the following qualifications and experience:

    • A recognized Project Management/ Contract Management qualification.
    • At least 5 years’ experience in international contracting, joint venture formation, strategic planning, or other highly complex contractual arrangements is required.
    • At least 5 years’ experience in a Technical Contract Management role.
    • Proficient in the use of Project Management Tools and Systems.

    Configuration Management Specialist - 4 positions

    Description:

    Reporting to the Space Programme Manager, the Configuration Management Specialist is responsible for implementing project configuration and data management systems and reviewing and auditing contractor configuration and data management systems for adequacy.

    The configuration management system must address configuration identification, configuration control, configuration accounting, and configuration verification. Typical tasks associated with configuration management are preparing the configuration management plan, identifying configuration items, establishing, and serving as Secretariat of configuration control boards, administering the control process and configuration accounting databases, engineering release, maintaining control and release records, and conducting audits.

    They assist the Space Project Manager in planning the overall project data requirements and collecting and managing information consistent with the project needs.


    Key performance areas will include, but are not limited to:

    • Establishment of confirmation management principles and processes.
    • Development of a configuration management policy and procedure.
    • Oversee the implementation of configuration management.
    • Training of staff in configuration management practices.

    Requirements:

    The ideal candidate must have the following qualifications and experience:

    • A recognized Project Management/ Administration qualification.
    • At least 5 years’ configuration management experience in mission-critical/ or highly complex technical project environments is required.
    • Advanced knowledge of ECSS Configuration Management concepts and disciplines (planning, configuration identification, status accounting, configuration control, and audits).
    • Proficient in the use of Project Management Tools and Systems.

    Board Secretary- 5 Year Performance Based-Contract - 4 positions

    Description:

    Reporting to the Board Chairperson, the Board Secretary will be responsible for advising the Board, CEO, and Senior Management on compliance and governance-related matters and for ensuring the Board is aware of any law(s) relevant to or affecting the Board and SANSA.

    Furthermore, they will be responsible for the planning, administration, and coordination of all Board and Executive Committee activities and functions in the governance of SANSA.

    The role reports to and works closely with the Chairperson of the Board, and reports to the CEO on day-to-day administrative issues. The role also works with the CEO and Executives to carry out the decisions taken by the Board.

    Key performance areas will include, but are not limited to:

    • Assisting the Board in carrying out its governance and compliance functions
    • Managing and coordinating the Board's administrative and logistical requirements
    • Managing the overall company secretarial and administrative functions
    • Ensuring effective communication and engagement between the Board and its stakeholders
    • In partnership with the chairperson and individual members, ensure that the Board is properly capacitated and effective.

    Requirements:

    The ideal candidate must have the following qualifications and experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant field (a legal and/or Chartered Governance Institute of Southern Africa qualification).
    • At least 5 years’ experience in a Board/company secretary role.
    • Experience within a public entity will be an added advantage.
    • Exceptional company secretarial and administration skills.
    • Good knowledge of corporate governance and compliance prescripts and relevant legislation, including public sector legislation.
