    Dumper Operator (Brewelskloof Quarry)

    Minimum Qualifications / Experience / Skill:

    • Minimum Grade 12.
    • Must have a valid driver’s license
    • Be literate and functionally numerate
    • 3-5 years’ experience in a similar environment.
    • Pre-employment medical required
    • Must have a valid Operator’s certificate
    • Basic mechanical background would be advantageous
    • Medically fit in terms of the Mine Health and Safety Act

    Duties and Responsibilities (not limited not):

    • Operating the TMM (Dumper) and carrying out all related tasks.
    • Reporting general mechanical elementary problems.
    • Operate TMM (Dumper) in a respectable safe manner in line with training received.
    • Be safety conscious.
    • Able to work as part of a team.
    • Acknowledge that Management may allocate additional tasks when tasks cannot be completed on a standard allocated job.
    • Keep the machine clean, safe and in good working order by completing the daily prestart checklist correctly.
    • Assist with the housekeeping around the production area.
    • Be able to work under pressure and sometimes extended hours (including overtime and Saturdays).
    • Must be able to carry out instructions given by your superior.
    • Travelling to various operations around the Western Cape

    General Worker (Bredasdorp)

    Minimum Qualifications / Experience / Skill:

    • Minimum Grade 12.
    • Be literate and functionally numerate.
    • Pre-employment medical required.
    • Ability to stand for long periods.
    • Ability to see well and distinguish between back up alarms, voices, and other normal sounds consistent with construction job sites.
    • Assist with manual labour and plant maintenance.

    Duties and Responsibilities (not limited not):

    • Ensure that the plant is cleaned regularly and as when required.
    • Assist with general maintenance tasks on and around the plant.
    • Maintain the cleanliness of the general working area i.e. cleaning of screens, etc.
    • Carry out other instructions given by your superior.
    • Report any general elementary problems to his/her immediate supervisor.
    • Adhere to all SHE rules and regulations that are applicable on the site.
    • Acknowledge that Management reserves the right to allocate additional tasks when for whatever reason the task cannot be completed on standard allocated job.

    • Afrimat is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic People Management (PM) & Learning and Development (L&D) Intern to join our dynamic team.
    • This role provides an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate to gain hands-on experience in human resources, employee engagement, and learning initiatives within a leading organisation.
    • Providing project management support
    • Assisting with day-to-day PM operations.
    • Supporting end-to-end recruitment and onboarding processes.
    • Coordinating training sessions, workshops, and learning programmes.
    • Assisting with Annual Training Reports (ATR) and Workplace Skills Plans (WSP).
    • Compiling and analysing PM data and reports.
    • Supporting employee engagement and culture-building initiatives.
    • Contributing to research and innovation of PM processes and procedures.
    • Providing general support to the Learning & Development function

    Minimum Qualifications / Experience:

    • Grade 12 / Matric
    • Relevant tertiary qualification in Behavioural Sciences or HR Management.
    • Minimum of 3 – 5 years’ experience as a Generalist in a mining / manufacturing People Management environment.
    • Specialist knowledge of SA labour legislation and Industrial Relations.

    • Ensuring compliance with legislative reporting requirements related to Employment
    • Equity and the Skills Development Act.
    • Provides People and Administrative support to the Site Leadership as and when required including monthly and weekly People related reports.
    • Oversee the Training and Development initiatives onsite with proper records retention.
    • Ensures confidentiality on employees’ records and information on site in alignment with the applicable legal requirements.
