    Phlebotomist - Hillcrest

    Purpose of Position:

    • To provide quality customer service and to collect non-blood and blood specimens for medical pathology analysis, within the legal-ethical framework of the nursing profession in a phlebotomy environment.

    Requirements:

    • Relevant HPCSA/SANC registration (Required), Relevant Phlebotomy or Nursing qualification (Required)

    Required Experience:

    • Experience as a Phlebotomist or similar position within a pathology or hospital environment.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Maintain good client relations and promote the image of Ampath., Manage the money/cash flow of the Care Centre to facilitate the collection of payments for phlebotomy services rendered.,
    • Perform administrative tasks to ensure correct recording and processing of information., Perform phlebotomy procedures to ensure sufficient delivery of the Care Centre services., Perform safety and quality control tasks to ensure that relevant standards are upheld.

    Medical Laboratory Scientist: Clinpath - Westridge

    Purpose of Position:

    • To perform routine and stat analyses of samples and maintain analysers / instruments in a Clinical Laboratory

    Requirements:

    • HPCSA registration as Medical Technologist (Clinical Pathology) (Required), National Diploma in Medical Technology (Clinical Pathology) / BHs MLS (Degree in Bachelor of Health Science in Medical Laboratory Sciences) (Required)

    Required Experience:

    • Experience in pathology laboratory environment, Knowledge: Ampath QC procedures, Knowledge: Instrumentation and Methodologies, Knowledge: Meditech system, Knowledge: MS Windows,
    • Knowledge: relevant pathology test procedures, Knowledge of Ampath Safety, Health and Environment management policy

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Maintain good client relations in order to promote the image of Ampath, Perform administration tasks in order to ensure effective administration systems in the laboratory, Perform Quality Control procedures in the laboratory in order to ensure best practices are upheld., Process routine bench work in laboratory in order to ensure efficient processing of specimens,
    • Provide technical support within laboratory in order to ensure the efficient flow of specimens and timeous resulting of specimen, Train laboratory staff in order to ensure continuous development and education

    Area Phlebotomy Manager - Durban South

    Purpose of Position:

    • Responsible for the performance of multiple depots, managing the processes, operations, and Phleb Leads to ensure operational goals are met and high-quality standards are maintained.

    Requirements:

    • Management qualification (Required), Relevant HPCSA/SANC registration (Required), Relevant Phlebotomy or Nursing qualification (Required), Valid South African drivers licence (Code EB) (Required)

    Required Experience:

    • 3 or more years' experience as a Phlebotomy Lead or similar position, having managed people, quality, expenses, and day-to-day operations of a depot within a Pathology environment., Up to 6 years of experience working in a depot within a pathology environment

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Compile and manage the budget (for relevant depots) to control expenses, ensure the correct allocation of funds, and drive efficiency., Maintain and drive a culture of superior customer experience.,
    • Manage the operations of the relevant depots to ensure alignment with operational goals., Manage the quality control of the relevant depots to ensure standards are maintained., Oversee the people management of relevant depots and ensure a positive work environment and high-performing culture.

    Technologist: Microbiology - East London

    Purpose of Position:

    • To process specimens according to set criteria and standards on all benches in the Microbiology Laboratory and to provide training to the employees on all benches.

    Requirements:

    • HPCSA registration: Independent Practice Microbiology, HPCSA Registration in Relevant Register and Practice Field, National Diploma: Biomedical Technology

    Required Experience:

    • Experiential training in a training laboratory, Knowledge: Ampath Microbiology document system, Knowledge: HPCSA regulations, Knowledge: Occupational Health and Safety Act (OSHA)

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Assist with the development and evaluation of new assays when required, Perform accreditation and Quality Control related tasks to ensure standards are upheld, Perform general tasks in order to ensure that best practice is upheld within the laboratory,
    • Perform Materials Management related tasks in order to ensure effective control over stock and to ensure sufficient stock levels at all times, Perform receiving and resulting tasks on the Meditech system in order to ensure correct handling, preparing and recording of specimen and results
