    Registered Nurse- Ward– Wilgeheuwel, Roodepoort

    KEY OUTPUTS

    • Delivers basic quality patient care and always adheres to Patient’s Rights.
    • Prevents and reports Medico-legal risks.
    • Control of stock and equipment.
    • Record keeping complies with Cure Day Hospitals s’ standards and legal requirements.
    • Identifies and addresses continuous professional development (CPD) needs.
    • Ensures a therapeutic and safe patient environment by maintaining health and safety standards, complies with infection prevention protocol.
    • Maintain Nursing Quality Standards.
    • Perform DUTIES promptly within deadlines, prioritization of tasks.
    • Give attentiveness to tasks including cost saving measures, elimination of medico-legal risks.
    • Knowledge of the work including principles, techniques etc.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Current registration with SANC as Registered Nurse.
    • Previous experience as Registered Ward Nurse.
    • Willingness to work shifts in accordance with the requirements of the unit.
    • Ability to identify, prevent and report medico-legal risks and adverse events within the unit.
    • Basic knowledge of stock control principles.
    • Sound knowledge of nursing activities and procedures as per Scope of Practice
    • Display a team approach by participating actively and co-operatively with team members.
    • Maintains respectful work relationships and interpersonal effectiveness.
    • Displays a concern for excellence in achieving results.
    • Demonstrates good judgement and decision-making skills.

    Receptionist and Admissions Clerk

    KEY OUTPUTS

    • Maintains client service principles to ensure client expectations are met.
    • Management of hospital telephone switchboard.
    • Liaison with client queries in an effective manner.
    • Opening the hospital at 5h30-5h45 each morning and receiving clients, patients, and visitors.
    • Contacting patients to offer information regarding e.g., time of admission and documentation needed.
    • Responsible for capturing pre-admissions.
    • Ensures correct admission and discharge of patients.
    • Management of payments made at Reception.
    • Assisting patients in obtaining medical authorisation or quotations, if required.
    • Billing and finalizing patient files.
    • Communicate with unit manager of theatre, Registered Nurse in Ward, and relevant doctors’ rooms regarding cancellations or add on patients.
    • Filing of patient files when needed and arrange uplifting of files to Head Office.
    • Maintenance and care of the photocopy and label printers and computers installed in Reception.
    • Monthly banking.
    • Other additional administrative tasks as requested by manager.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • A Grade 12 and relevant qualification.
    • 1-3 years relevant experience in healthcare environment.
    • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office suite including Excel and Word.
    • Knowledge of ICD-10 Codes.
    • Willingness to work shifts in accordance with the requirements of the facility.
    • Customer-centred mind-set that acknowledges the value of the customer.
    • Solid knowledge and application of patient administration systems, policies, and procedures.
    • The ability to work under pressure.
    • Good interpersonal skills, the ability to deal with people and be in the frontline.
    • Ability to plan and organise to ensure that work is completed in an efficient manner.
    • The ability to identify and demonstrate company values.
    • Own Transport.

    Enrolled Nurse / Enrolled Nursing Auxiliary – Theatre

    KEY OUTPUTS

    • Delivers comprehensive and quality patient care.
    • Adheres to Patient’s Rights at all times.
    • Prevents, reports, and manages Medico-legal risks.
    • Patient records and registers meet legal requirements.
    • Control of stock and equipment.
    • Provides support to new employees.
    • Ensures a therapeutic and safe patient environment by maintaining health and safety standards, complies with infection prevention protocols.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Currently registered with SANC as ENA or EN.
    • Experience in Theatre (Anesthetics and circulating).
    • Scrubbing and Recovery experience will be advantageous.
    • Willing to work shifts in accordance with the requirements of the Unit.
    • Competent in the demonstration and assessment of all clinical procedures and management of risks.
    • Basic knowledge of stock control principles.
    • The ability to identify and report near-misses and adverse events.
    • Knowledge of clinical procedures.
    • A good understanding and application of the nursing scope of practice and knowledge of patient care.
    • Be able to function as an effective member of the nursing team by facilitating team effectiveness.
    • Displays a concern for excellence by following work routines and standards while achieving results.
    • The ability to display sound judgment in problem-solving.
    • Own Transport.
