    Regional Sales Manager

    Job Description

    • We are looking for an experienced and results-driven Regional Sales Manager to lead revenue growth, expand market share, and improve dealership performance within an assigned region for a leading automotive importer and retailer. The role involves providing strategic direction, operational oversight, and strong leadership to dealership sales teams, while ensuring alignment with the company’s commercial goals and brand standards.

    Key Responsibilities

    Strategic & Financial Performance

    • Develop and execute regional sales strategies aligned with corporate objectives.
    • Achieve and exceed regional sales volume, revenue, and profitability targets.
    • Identify and capitalize on opportunities to grow market share and expand the customer base.
    • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer insights to inform strategic decisions.
    • Manage the regional sales budget, optimizing costs while maximizing revenue potential.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with dealerships, fleet buyers, and key corporate clients.

    Business Development & Market Growth

    • Support dealerships in growing their customer base through targeted sales, marketing, and promotional initiatives.
    • Identify new business opportunities across retail, wholesale, and fleet channels.
    • Collaborate closely with marketing teams to implement effective regional campaigns and promotions.
    • Negotiate favorable commercial terms with key partners and stakeholders to enhance business outcomes.

    Operational Excellence

    • Oversee day-to-day regional sales operations to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
    • Monitor dealership performance against agreed KPIs and implement corrective action plans where required.
    • Ensure compliance with company policies, contractual obligations, industry regulations, and customer service standards.
    • Leverage CRM systems and sales reporting tools to track performance and support data-driven decision-making.
    • Prepare regular sales performance reports for senior management, highlighting risks, opportunities, and trends.
    • Share best practices and drive continuous improvement across the dealer network.

    Leadership & People Development

    • Lead, mentor, and develop the regional sales team to achieve high performance.
    • Set clear objectives, provide regular feedback, and foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
    • Coordinate training and development initiatives with the training department to enhance sales capability and product knowledge.
    • Promote collaboration across sales, marketing, training, aftersales, and dealer development teams to maximize customer satisfaction.

    Governance, Risk & Compliance

    • Ensure all sales agreements and transactions adhere to legal, ethical, and corporate governance standards.
    • Monitor dealership compliance with contractual and performance requirements.
    • Implement risk mitigation strategies to protect company assets, brand reputation, and stakeholder relationships.

    Key Stakeholder Engagement

    • Internal: Sales, Marketing, Finance, Operations, Senior Management, Training & Aftersales, Dealer Development
    • External: Dealerships, Fleet Buyers, Corporate Clients, Suppliers

    Qualifications & Experience

    Essential

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or a related field.
    • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in regional sales management within the automotive industry.
    • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and growing market share.
    • Experience managing dealership networks and driving business development.
    • Strong understanding of automotive import, retail, wholesale, and dealership operations.
    • Valid (unendorsed) driver’s license.

    Advantageous

    • Postgraduate qualification.
    • Industry certifications in automotive sales or dealership management.

    Skills & Competencies

    • Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
    • Strong analytical ability with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
