    Advertising Manager: Cellular

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    We’re seeking a dynamic Advertising Manager: Cellular to drive brand awareness, generate leads, and ultimately increase sales and market share through strategic advertising initiatives. This involves strategizing, planning, directing and coordinating advertising campaigns for the cellular business unit.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Strategic Planning: 

    • Develop comprehensive advertising strategies aligned with marketing goals.
    • Media and/or channel plan and allocation.
    • Analyze market trends and consumer behavior to identify target audiences and optimize advertising efforts.

    Campaign Management:

    • Oversee the creation and execution of advertising campaigns across various media channels, including digital, print, TV, and Radio.
    • Ensure that campaigns are delivered on time and withing budget.
    • Coordinate with creative teams, such as graphic designers, copywriters, and media planners, to produce compelling and effective advertisements.
    • Facilitate collaboration with internal teams(digital & Customer) to ensure alignment and support

    Compliance and Brand consistency : 

    • Ensure that all advertising materials comply with industry regulations and standards.
    • Maintain consistency with the company’s brand identity and messaging across all advertising platforms.
    • Provide input into and support internal staff training platform, ensuring that all material aligns with the company brand and marketing objectives.

    Performance analysis:

    • Monitor and analyse the effectiveness of advertising campaigns using various metrics and analytics tools/dashboards.
    • Adjust strategies based on performance data to improve future campaigns.

    Management: 

    • Financial Management: Prep and manage advertising budgets & allocate resources effectively to maximize the ROI for advertising expenditures.
      • Stakeholder Management/ customer focus: Maintain relationships with key stakeholders to ensure their needs and expectations are met.
      • Talent Management: Lead and mentor the marketing coordinator and facilitate communication and collaboration among team members to achieve campaign objectives.

    JOB RELATED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED

    Knowledge:

    • An excellent comprehension of the marketing strategies, branding, customer behaviour and principles relevant to value retailing, as well as a practical grasp of the South African advertising and media industry.
    • A strong understanding of customer and market dynamics and requirements.

    Skills:

    • Attention to detail, thoroughness and persistence.
    • Need to be able to be responsible for a big budget
    • People skills are of utmost importance.
    • Ability to work under pressure critical.
    • Ability to evaluate customer research, market conditions, and competitor data thereafter to implement marketing plan alterations as appropriate.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • A Degree/National Diploma in Marketing or an equivalent qualification
    • Digital marketing qualification

    EXPERIENCE:

    • A minimum of 5 years’ experience within a marketing role.
    • A minimum of 2 years’ experience at a management level in an Advertising or Marketing role, which specifically includes responsibility for managing a team.
    • Experience within retail environment is critical.
    • Experience in working across several different business units and functions.
    • Extensive experience of developing and delivering on marketing strategies to meet company objectives.

    Preferred:

    • Experience working with Network providers or MNO’s
    • Experience in applying data driven marketing strategies.
    • Sound knowledge of digital marketing strategies

    Payroll Supervisor

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    This role will be responsible for managing the Weekly Payroll Process as well as the Payroll Reconciliation Function. The Payroll Supervisor maintains procedures aimed at ensuring efficiency in all aspects of salary payment administration including preparation, documentation and disbursement of employee payments, third party benefit provider payments and payroll taxes.

    We're a fully in-office team. This role is based at our Support Centre in Kuils River, Cape Town.

    Key responsibilities:

    Payroll Administration

    • Processes weekly payroll (Full payroll function).
    • Check and approve on-line (manual) payments outside of the formal payment processes on an adhoc basis.
    • Authorization of the ACB/bank files (weekly) for South Africa and foreign countries.
    • Assists Weekly Payroll Administrators with escalated queries on the payroll that they are accountable for.
    • Ensure that the Payroll department is compliant with adequate record keeping (filing) and that any proof requested by the auditors is easily retrievable.
    • Ensure that weekly reports are communicated to business as per agreed timelines.

    Manage Payroll Reconciliations Function 

    • Prepare reconciliations to reconcile various Balance Sheet Accounts for review by Payroll Manager.
    • Resolving outstanding items.
    • Trial Balance Checklist.
    • Payroll system journals.
    • Process Payments.
    •  Submissions – Monthly & Bi-Annual.

    Payroll Input

    •    Ensure that all transactions (on-boarding and movements) approved on the payroll apps is processed accurately.
    • Ensure that time captured on time app is approved and imported to payroll.
    • Ensure all 3rd party bulk uploads are processed.
    • Changes in processes or where nonpayment is to take place, needs to be communicated to all stakeholders in a timely manner.

    Payroll Compliance 

    • Assist with ensuring that we maintain compliance with various tax agencies in paying over the correct tax for employees.
    • Ensure that across all countries the necessary statutory deductions are applied.
    • Ensure that the organisation is compliant with the minimum wages as per legislation.
    • Ensure that the ETI calculation is applied as per legislation.
    • Assist in ensuring that the organisation is compliant with the current and changing taxation laws, with a specific focus on the changes that are pronounced annually in all 5 trading countries (new tax tables, medical tax credit changes etc).

    Stakeholder Management 

    • Ensure that the Payroll department receives a payroll scorecard feedback score from the business of 75% plus (Weekly Team).

    Payroll System

    • Ensure that the company trading calendar is updated annually on the Payroll System and all Payroll supporting Apps.
    • Ensure that new Payroll components are created as per the requirement and linked correctly to general ledgers and correct tax codes.
    • Manage Payroll runs, the ability to create interim runs and the monthly close off per pay period.
    • Update and linking of profiles to the General Ledger
    • Extract and Posting of General Ledger to Financial system

    Payroll System Project Management 

    • Ensure the Payroll System related projects which directly affect the payroll payment processes, is accurately and effectively executed.
    • Assist the HRIS team in testing of Payroll apps enhancement features.
    • Implementing remedial action when adverse audit findings, processes or controls regarding the payroll processes are identified.
    • Identify and recommend opportunities for system simplification/improvements or enhancements.

    Team Management 

    • Ensure that the Payroll team members achieve the required feedback scores.
    • Ensure planning, organizing and supervising of the Payroll team members performance , recruitment, communication & career development

    Qualifications required:

    Essential:

    • Certificate or Diploma (Finance)

    Preferred:

    • B.Com accounting Degree or any other relevant degree.

    Experience required:

    Essential:

    • 5 years of relevant Payroll experience, including reconciliation experience
    • Administrating a large volume of Payroll.
    • 2 or more years leadership experience.

    Preferred:

    • 3 -5 years of integrated Payroll systems experience.
    • Experience in tax legislation in other African countries.
    • Experience in executing Payroll for other African countries.
    • Weekly Payroll experience

    Knowledge and skills required:

    • Payroll systems experience.
    • Knowledge of full Payroll function, including Payroll capturing and reconciliation.
    • Expert Knowledge of BCEA,PAYE, UIF, Skills Levy Act and ETI.
    • Working knowledge of integrated payroll.
    • Basic knowledge of financial administration.
    • A good understanding of Accounting principles.
    • Understanding of tax and labour legislation.
    • SAP Finance module.

    • Review financial postings- Understanding account structures and clearing of accounts
