    Shift Storeman

    Your mission:

    • Implementing and maintaining equipment and programs in the Stores including the Management System.
    • Take a practical role in optimization of technical stores systems and resources ensuring plant/process availability according to predetermined availability parameters.
    • Monitoring process and systems conditions and trends to improve productivity and efficiency.
    • Perform stores tasks when participating in optimization projects.
    • Engage in liaison with other stakeholders such as suppliers, direct line management, production, engineering and maintenance.
    • Monitor equipment performance to minimize equipment failure, optimize and improve equipment performance to reduce downtime.
    • Work on equipment repair and manufacturing facility. 
    • Participate in the implementation of upgrades and projects, doing specialized work.
    • Investigate failures and recommend corrective action.
    • Activate/do  statutory inspections if relevant to a particular discipline.
    • Produce inputs to higher level systems and processes, like budgeting.
    • Activate  workplace specific safe procedures related to workplace specific equipment.

    Your profile:

    • Tertiary education in the Warehousing, Distribution or Supply Chain Management.
    • Minimum NQF level 5.
    • 3 – 5 years’ experience in a Warehouse or Stores environment within a manufacturing industry with a preference of Pulp and Paper industry experience

    Production Engineer - Chemical Plant

    Your mission:

    • Troubleshooting and root cause analysis
    • Tracking plant production and OEE and analysing the data and developing solutions
    • Materials and stock management
    • Shut planning and coordination
    • Process safety risk management and quality control
    • Assist the Head of Production with people development
    • Contractor management
    • Ensure continuous improvement and process optimisation
    • Develop SOPs, BOPs, and WOP and troubleshooting guides(responsibility)

    Your profile:

    • BSc Chemical Engineering or equivalent

    • PI process book system experience will be advantageous
    • South African Driver’s License
    • A minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Process / Production Engineer within a manufacturing industry (Preferably Pulp & Paper or Chlor-alkali)

    Instrumentation Construction Coordinator

    Your mission:

    • Assist the project manager in planning the project  
    • Identify all statutory requirements for allocated projects and ensure requirements are addressed  
    • Assist the project manager in creating a schedule for the construction work  
    • Ensure that a Control Quality Plan is available for project construction activities  
    • Assess project construction safety risks  
    • Asses project construction progress risks  
    • Ensure that technical drawings are distributed to contractors as required  
    • Ensure that records are available to complete as- built drawings  
    • Establish material and equipment requirements, prepare material/equipment list and compile technical specifications for purchasing  
    • Assist with enquiry documents before distribution to ensure that the scope of work, quality provision (Standards & Specifications) and construction time lines have been correctly specified Initiate orders for equipment / materials  
    • Recommend contractor selection  
    • Advise project personnel on suitable vendors for equipment and labour supply    
    • Ensure mill standards are met  
    • Maintain safe & clean working environment by enforcing procedures, rules & regulations  
    • Lead project / site meetings  
    • Liaise with contractors and suppliers  
    • Identify problem areas and make sound decisions to rectify  
    • Report on construction progress to project manager and customers  
    • Review quality control plans  
    • Agree upon action plans to rectify quality deviations when required  
    • Keep accurate records of material and labour costs during construction  
    • Identify and manage project progress and safety risks  
    • Ensure compliance to all statutory requirements  
    • Checking quality of equipment / material on arrival  
    • Approve invoices for payment  
    • Report all injuries and close calls to the project manager and medical facility   
    • Ensure all pre-commissioning protocols have been signed off prior to cold commissioning  
    • Carry out Cold commissioning (Field tests) of all installations  
    • Assist with Hot commissioning and monitor to identify problem areas  
    • Repair / Rectify all identified problems / discrepancies  
    • Ensure that punch lists items are addressed as required before commissioning  
    • Assess and approve / reject requests for additional work in line with company policies and procedures  
    • Fully utilise PPO as a Project Management Tool  

    Your profile:

    • Matric / Grade 12
    • Instrumentation Trade test
    • N6 Diploma in Electrical Engineering – Process Instrumentation
    • National Diploma in Engineering from a University of Technology would be advantageous
    • 1 Year minimum diploma/certificate in Project Management
    • Experience in a supervisory position (preferably construction supervision)
    • 3 years minimum in the project construction environment.
    • 5 years relevant experience in instrumentation system installation, supervision, commissioning experience required. 
    • Exposure to different industrial communication protocol (Profibus PA, HART, 4-20mA), automation systems and Metso DCS required.
    • Basic understanding of the project life cycles

    Service Contract Coordinators (Fixed Term Contract))

    Your mission:

    • Understands the legal and safety requirements – OHS ACT 
    • Manages legal compliance of contractors for the above requirements
    • Perform ad hoc safety inspections on contractors Plant and equipment
    • Ensure legal register of all scaffolding builds and MEWPs on site are maintained
    • Ensures a register of contractors employees on site are maintained
    • Daily monitoring of Scaffolding, Mobile elevated work platforms(MEWP), Mobile cranes, Riggers, etc
    • Forward plan and Schedule all contractor work on a weekly basis
    • Approves ad hoc work requirements
    • Assessing Needs: Controller assess the needs required based on project specifications and plans accordingly
    • Collaborating and working with BU planners when necessary
    • Monitoring number of contractors on site and were they are used and how to use them efficiently and planning and coordinating proficiencies relating to the utilization of manpower
    • Monitors and highlights deviations to planned work
    • Weekly reporting on contractor efficiencies – people and equipment - Provide reports to verify results 
    • Maintain contractor head count to an acceptable level (TBA) – and report on daily headcount
    • Monitors quality of equipment brought on site by contractors
    • Log corrective and safety notifications for any defects identified during inspections on equipment

    Your profile:

    • N6 National Diploma: Mechanical 
    • 5 years of experience working in a heavy industrial environment 
    • OHS Act Standards
    • Analytical and problem solving skills
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    • Meticulous attention to detail

    HV Electrician

    Your mission:

    Operation, routine maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment problems relating but no limited to:

    • Mondi 132kV transmission towers (9) from the Umhlathuze LEO switch yard to Mondi 132kV switch yard
    • Mondi 132kV switching yard
    • 11kV reticulation system which includes power and distributions transformers, feeders, RMUs, battery tripping units (BTUs) and the related protection elements such as relays and cables

    Mill 11kV Generators comprising of steam driven and gas turbine generators;

    • Excitors
    • AVRs
    • Busbar systems
    • Stray flux and partial discharge measurement systems
    • Execution of planned maintenance interventions on minor and major shuts
    • Coaching and training of new apprentices and trainees as assigned from time to time
    • Perform HV standby duties on a rotational basis

    Your profile:

    • Minimum NQF 4 Electrical Engineering 
    • Trade Test Electrician 
    • Must have completed 2-year apprenticeship
    • 3 years post apprenticeship experience as an electrician in a heavy industry including experience in including 3.3kV to 132kV switching and troubleshooting on related medium voltage feeders and protection relays
    • Passed SANS10142-1 Exam (electrical installation rules) (i.e. eligible to obtain wiremen’s licence)
    • Valid Certificate for Operating Regulations for High Voltage Systems (ORHVS) 
    • Code 08 / EB license compulsory

    Automation Technician - Electrical

    Your mission:

    • Overall responsibility for electrical automation technology asset care (maintenance and troubleshooting)
    • Execute defined maintenance strategies/routines, related to industrial electronic equipment
    • Continuous improvement of mill reliability KPI’s related to electrical automation 
    • Keep up to date with, & support the implementation of new technologies
    • Perform Mill wide electrical automation technician standby as required 
    • Coordinate & support plant electrical team with problem problem-solving 
    • Provide input into database of BU electronic failures to facilitate system reliability reviews, skills improvement and quick reference guides for typical technical problems  
    • Engineering Maintenance Execution (including shutdown and Asset Care management).
    • Excellent maintenance execution for large industrial sites.
    • Good understanding of all fields of engineering (mechanical(basic), electrical(expert), instrumentation and automation (expert)) and how to mentor and coach others 
    • Robust technical background in the electrical automation 
    • Prioritise and manage time to achieve consistent results (consistent value adding).
    • Solve complex electrical automation problems (from program debugging to expert knowledge of electrical starters, relays, variable frequency drives, UPS, battery-management-systems etc.)

    Your profiles:

    • S4 or National Diploma in Electrical Engineering (Heavy current)
    • BTech would be advantageous
    • 3 to 5 years of solid experience in heavy engineering and production experience in Electrical Automation related to the heavy engineering pulp & paper industry 
    • 1 to 2 years technician-in-training programme would be very advantageous
    • Experienced in Pulp & Paper or equivalent technologies.
    • Excellent understanding of electrical automaton technology including but not limited to VSDs, PLCs, DCS, Motor Control technology, electrical system protection relays, recti-formers, engineering PCs and Servers and basic IT. 
    • Good understanding of industrial communication protocols (Profibus, Profinet, Serial bus communication etc) 
    • Good understanding of Siemens Simatic Manager, TIA system, ABB800 XA, In-Touch SCADA etc
    • Functional Safety Systems, Advanced Process Control & Distributed Control Systems (Valmet DNA DCS, would be advantageous) 
    • Proven experience in maintenance and troubleshooting of electrical automation systems
