    • This role will be based in the 24HR Pharmacy in Bellville, Cape Town.

    Job description

    Job Objectives

    • To assist and direct customers to the correct queue for prescription or over-the-counter (OTC) medication.
    • To assist customers with opening customer profiles, linking their Clicks ClubCard, and updating customer information when required.
    • To manage the handout counter by removing buzzers and ensuring there is always a pharmacist available to sign out medication.
    • To direct customers to the coffee shop or seating area while waiting for medication.
    • To provide special assistance to elderly, disabled, or mobility-impaired customers by directing them to the seating counter and notifying an assistant or pharmacist.
    • To answer incoming telephone calls and take messages when pharmacists are unavailable.
    • To collect and remove empty containers and ensure they are taken to the back area.
    • To collect all signed-out parcels from the handout counter.
    • To check parcels for blister packs, deliveries, and calling requirements.
    • To record calling parcels in the calling book and ensure customers sign upon collection of medication.
    • To ensure parcels are rung up by the cashier on the relevant account and placed in the designated crate for hospital driver collection.
    • To scan, label, and file paperwork and script copies accurately.
    • To ensure pharmacist and assistant nameplates are correctly displayed and updated according to shift changes.
    • To check stationery levels daily for both day and night shifts.
    • To ensure all workstations are sanitised and maintained to hygiene standards.
    • To uphold high standards of customer service at all times.

    Minimum requirements

    Education and Experience:

    • Essential: Grade 12
    • Previous pharmacy, retail, sales or customer service experience in a customer facing role within a pharmacy/retail store operations environment (essential)
