    Senior Order Entry Clerk - Merebank

    PURPOSE OF THE JOB

    Reporting to the Financial Controller, the incumbent will be responsible for processing of orders, and ensuring governance within the call centre by monitoring of identified risk areas within the area of responsibility and will be required to support the greater team by ensuring high quality of service delivery within the call centre to the rest of the business.

    QUALIFICATION & EXPERTISE

    • Matric 
    • Diploma in credit control or equivalent.
    • A minimum of 5 years in the Paper Industry will be advantageous.

    JOB EXPERIENCE: 

    • A minimum 3-year credit control experience preferably in a sales and commercial environment. 
    • Call centre experience will be an advantage.

    RESPONSIBILITIES / KPAS:

    • Sales order processing
    • Ensure correct pricing to customers and within required approval.    
    • Ensure Call centre governance and risk mitigation.
    • Handling customer queries.
    • Identify areas for continuous improvement within the CSC team for the Paperlink business.        
    • Ensure month end reporting requirements / Internal and external audit queries are handled timeously.

    Job Experience

    Area Projects Manager

    Profile Requirements:

    • B Sc (Eng) or other equivalent 4-year engineering degree (Chemical, mechanical, electrical or civil)
    • 1-year minimum advanced certificate/diploma in project management would be advantageous
    • Pr Eng (Professional Engineer) registration with ECSA (Engineering Council of SA) or eligible
    • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification with PMI (Project Management Institute) or eligible

    Experience:

    • 7 years Project Management experience in an industrial environment, 5 years of which have been in a leadership role
    • Experience within the Pulp & Paper industry will be beneficial
    • Must have expert understanding of Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) Disciplines (Integration, Scope, Time, Quality, Cost, Human Resources, Communications, Risk Management, Procurement)
    • Must have experience creating Business Cases, Project Budgets and cashflows, Project Plans, and associated project materials
    • Must have experience in procurement (Contractual Law and negotiation)

    Key Performance Areas:

    • Ensures compliance with Safety, Health and Environmental policies and ensures legal compliance
    • Plans, develops and manages the short, medium and long term capital budget programme for the designated Plant area according to technical and capex strategy
    • Manages the Project area personnel ensuring optimal resourcing to provide the agreed deliverables and operated within the agreed financial constraints

    • Takes direct responsibility for project engineering and construction work within the designated plant area

    Instrument Projects Engineer

    Profile Requirements:

    • Tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering - Process Instrumentation (Diploma from University of Technology)
    • Preference: Bachelor’s Degree or B-Tech Degree
    • Registration with Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) or eligible.

    Experience:

    • 5 years’ relevant experience in instrumentation engineering in an industrial environment, with specific focus on projects.
    • 3 years minimum experience in a projects environment.
    • Must have an understanding of projects elements which includes scope, time, quality, costs, human resource,   communication, risk and procurement management.
    • Must have an understanding of projects life cycles.
    • Knowledge and experience in engineering design, developing and maintaining of systems to meet required specifications, construction, commissioning and handover phases of project execution.

    Key Performance Areas:

    • Development of technical solutions for the A&I engineering discipline for capital projects.
    • Provide technical support and utilize the Front End Loading (FEL) process to develop proper engineering solutions for capital projects.
    • Accountable for A&I project engineering and verification of construction work against the design within the designated plant areas.
    • Compiles and ensure proper scoping, planning, quality compliance, execution and commissioning of A&I scope in all projects and including successful shutdown execution.
    • Monitors the A&I scope within projects to ensure they are completed within committed time, scope, quality and agreed budget.
    • Responsible for the development and maintenance of the A&I Mondi Engineering Standards, Processes and Procedures which help in governance, quality and compliance.
    • Ensures compliance with Safety, Health & Environmental policies and ensure legal compliance.
    • Accountable for development of Automation & Instrumentation (A&I) solutions for capital projects.
    • Responsible for implementation of A&I discipline scope on capital projects.
    • Co-ordination of A&I draftsman’s activities and deliverables on capital projects to ensure that works are execute in line with project requirements.
    • Development and maintenance of technical instrumentation standards for Mondi South Africa
    • Control and monitoring of A&I work performance to ensure timeous completion of projects.
    • Ensures that relevant engineering processes and standards are applied.
    • Actively responsible for design, implementation, testing and commissioning of automation solutions.

    Mechanical Technician - Chemical Plant

    Profile Requirements:

    • National Diploma / BTech in Mechanical Engineering
    • Minimum NQF level 6.
    • GCC will be beneficial

    Experience:

    • 3 to 5 years within the maintenance / engineering function in a heavy industry environment – pulp and paper, steel processing, mining, etc.
    • 1 to 3 years in the role of mechanical technician within this environment.
    • Experience in developing and implementing maintenance plans and strategies for pipelines, including scheduled replacements, inspections, and preventive maintenance.
    • Understanding of relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations governing pipeline maintenance, such as ASME, API and SAN347.
    • Proficiency in using relevant tools, equipment, and technologies for pipeline maintenance and repair work.
    • Experience in the application of the following core engineering processes
    • Maintenance quality management.
    • Shutdown management and task execution.
    • Budgeting and cost management.
    • Contractor management.
    • Fault-finding and troubleshooting (application of problem-solving techniques & tools).

    Key Performance Areas:

    • Holding the responsibility of the technical expert of plant machinery, from the mechanical perspective.
    • Providing technical support (in terms of data, information, etc.) to the artisan execution team.
    • The execution of more complex maintenance activities, including the management of contractors required for these activities.
    • Accountable for day-day decision-making on the prioritization of break-down and break-in work activities within the work schedule.
    • The role shall serve as the first call on break-down events to support the problem diagnosis and advise the maintenance artisan team on appropriate corrective action.
    • Troubleshooting – understand, utilize, and use technical drawings, P&ID’s, etc. for fault finding on plant problems.
    • Ensure adherence to engineering standards by the team during maintenance execution.
    • The role shall provide support to the planning department on routine maintenance and shut-down activities from a technical perspective.
    • Management of repairable and non-repairable spare parts as per the RACI definition of the process procedure, such as quality check activities, etc.
    • Management of specific maintenance service contracts in the plant.
    • Analysis and ownership of actions arising from equipment condition-based monitoring reports (including scoping of work). Collaboration with condition-monitoring team from this perspective.
    • Management of operational risk arising from equipment defects and faults (‘mill equipment risk list’).
    • Identify and implement small-scope improvement projects and initiatives from a technical design perspective with the intention on improving service life.
    • Auditing of the quality of service received by the Central Maintenance Services department.
    • Auditing of the quality of maintenance performed by centralized maintenance execution (hydraulics).
    • Maintaining the required condition of plant and equipment.
    • Direct support and management (setting the standard) of the quality of maintenance execution in the plant.
    • Management of the plant technical documentation as per the RACI definition of the process procedure.
    • Management of cost within the assigned cost centre.
    • Support the Maintenance Manager in ensuring compliance to all mill asset care procedures (with specific reference to Work Order, Technical Change and Shutdown Management processes).
    • Support the central Engineering department during appropriate technical processes (for example, RCFA investigations).
    • Support the central Engineering department through the identification of improvement potential and sources of loss.
    • Support the central Engineering department in the development of applicable Engineering Standards for the mill.
