    Chief Engineer: Hydrogen, Fuel Cell & Electrolysis System Engineer

     

    What We Are Looking For

    • Hydrogen storage is a key enabling technology to advance hydrogen and fuel cell technologies in applications including stationary power, portable power, and transportation, where high density hydrogen storage is a challenge for all these applications. The Hydrogen, Fuel Cell and Electrolysis Systems Engineer will lead research into hydrogen storage solutions and collaboration with external technology suppliers.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Perform detailed technical analysis of plant equipment and technology options that you can present to senior management with recommendations.
    • Lead hydrogen research through technology evaluations of various production, storage, distribution, and end use applications.
    • Perform technical analysis of hydrogen and fuel cell technologies, systems, and infrastructure.
    • Perform work independently and in cooperation with other team members, including mentoring and R&D leadership and coordinate work with capabilities resident in laboratories, universities, or other organizations.
    • Write and lead research and development proposals.
    • Prepare and present strategic direction with regard to the key performance areas above supporting interventions with Marketing-, Sales- and Product Management departments as well as during interventions with clients.

    What Qualifications You Should Have

    • Eng./B.Sc. Degree qualification in Engineering.
    • At least 5 years of engineering experience in hydrogen related technologies.
    • Experience in giving strategic direction with regard to the relevant technologies.
    • Have thorough knowledge of hydrogen (green/blue/grey) sector including policy and regulations, production technology, storage technology, transport technology and hydrogen uses.
    • Experience with industrial process engineering (mechanical, electrical, control systems).
    • Experience with hydrogen production projects.
    • Experience in electrolysis and liquefaction technologies is preferred.
    • Track record of successfully working with third parties to accomplish project goals.
    • Working knowledge of renewable energy technologies such as solar, wind and hydropower.
    • Superior verbal and written communication skills and high level of attention to detail with the ability to present to a wide range of audiences, including contractors, operations personnel, and corporate leaders.
    • Good interpersonal skills and Ability to work well in a team.
    • Strong data collection, analytic, and writing skills.

    THE FOLLOWING WILL BE CONSIDERED ADVANTAGEOUS:

    • Post-graduate qualification.
    • Knowledge of cost data and benchmarks for Ammonia process technologies, as well as technologies for chemical derivatives like methanol, or Kerosene, etc.
    • Experience with Ammonia process technologies, including plant operations, process design, and /or simulation.
    • Research and development background in the development of hydrogen-based technologies and advantage.

    What We Are Looking For

    The Senior Sales Manager is responsible for the identification of business opportunities within an appointed Region, Product Group or Key Accounts. The incumbent is responsible for the management of sales, customer relationships and marketing initiatives to increase market share and order intake for RDM.

    Identification and development of business opportunities

    • Pre-empt requirements through market research and Stakeholder engagement.
    • Position RDM as preferred partner, supplier and offer commercially attractive solutions.

    Identify and develop business opportunities

    • Confirm which RDM business solutions will be suitable for the market and sales opportunity.
    • Prepare and implement various capture plans enabling business development.
    • Understand competitive landscape.
    • Create winning pricing strategies aligned with Commercial Strategy.
    • Develop strong business network with multi-layer relationships including Business to Government, and Business-to-Business partners.
    • Contract suitable partners within market/sales structure to execute commercial strategies.

    Internal stakeholder liaising

    • Coordinate and align with management team.
    • Liaise with internal role players to collate relevant inputs and establish an executable solution.
    • Provide inputs to colleagues for business development opportunities.

    Customer relationship management

    • Ensure regular and effective communication with end users/technical advisors and distributors.
    • Monitor and ensure optimal customer satisfaction throughout customer lifecycle.
    • Manage all customer communication at all levels.
    • Communicate and engage with relevant stakeholders in the markets including Ministers, Heads of Security Forces, Defence Attaches, Ambassadors, Heads of Industry Partners, Procurement officers etc.
    • Build strong stakeholder network.
    • Coordinate and align with internal management team to effectively manage all business processes relevant to Market/Region/Key Account/Product Group.
    • Ensure compliance to internal policies and procedures, government policies and international laws and legislations.

    What Qualifications You Should Have

    • NQF 6 (National Diploma) qualification in Marketing/Business Development or equivalent.
    • At least 7 years’ experience in international sales and marketing.
    • Experience in the Security, Technology or Defence industry would be advantageous
    • Knowledge of Defence Industry including ammunition and weapon systems.
    • Detailed knowledge on RDM and Rheinmetall products and services.
    • Global Political and Economic Affairs.
    • Understanding of International Trade and regulations.
    • Communicate effectively – Written & Verbal presentations.
    • Represent RDM at all levels of negotiation both technically and commercially.
    • Ability to work under pressure to achieve targets.
    • Travel local and International.
    • Strong contract negotiation skills.
