    Blasting and Cementation Supervisor

    About the role

    • A leading manufacturing organisation is seeking an experienced Blasting & Cementation Supervisor to oversee production activities within its fabrication environment.
    • The successful candidate will be responsible for production planning, materials management, stock control and production performance, ensuring that products meet required quality standards and are delivered on time.
    • This role will suit an experienced production supervisor with strong organisational, analytical and technical capabilities who can effectively coordinate people, materials and production requirements.

    Purpose Of The Role

    • The Blasting and Cementation supervisor is responsible for materials management and stock control ensure products meets Company quality standard and delivered in time. He is also responsible to analyse performance and reconcile material usage.

    Key Performance Areas

    (This is not an exhaustive list of functions to be carried out).

    To perform the following tasks;

    • Daily Production Planning for blasting and cementing
    • Weekly plan for aluminium cutting
    • Monitoring plan vs actual on a daily basis an ensuring optimal efficiency and zero loss to production.
    • Ensuring compliance to SOP.
    • Preparing daily and monthly MIS.
    • Ensuring availability of all material, including consumables.
    • Ensuring manpower availability in all shifts.
    • Ensure good housekeeping and safe work practices.

    Monitor raw material usage by:

    • recording rejects/rework
    • Weekly stock take
    • Interdepartmental communications
    • Liaise with planning head for daily/weekly planning
    • Liaise with Stores/Fabrication for material requirement
    • Liaise with Maintenance for machine upkeeping

    EXPERIENCE

    • Production Planning/Supervisor in a Manufacturing environment

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • NQF Level 5/6 in Engineering or a related field/
    • Thorough understanding of mechanical drawings
    • 3 years relevant experience
    • Good at Excel
    • Autocad experience would be added advantage
    • Knowledge of TQM / 5S / QC tools would be advantage

    Fabrication Foreman

    Purpose Of The Job

    • The Fabrication Foreman is responsible for improving cost efficiency, production efficiency, continuous improvement, implementing various quality and operation management system.

    Key Performance Areas

    (This is not an exhaustive list of functions to be carried out).

    To perform the following tasks;

    Reports to: Head of Production

    • Preparing effective weekly or fortnightly production plan to achieve material ready 7 days ahead of press production
    • Review of steel wastage for each item ahead of planning and take action to minimize wastages by deploying various strategies
    • Improving operation and material cost
    • Study all bottlenecks in operation and cost efficiencies and take actions to resolve them
    • Implementing best operation and safety practices in fabrication
    • Ensuring match of physical inventory w.r.t. SAP
    • Co-ordinate with planning, tool room, blasting, stores, procurement, production, and maintenance for various department related activities

    Qualifications

    • Trade certificate / diploma in Fabrication, Boilermaking, Welding, or Mechanical Engineering (relevant technical qualification).
    • 5–8 years' experience in heavy/structural steel fabrication, of which 2–3 years in a supervisory / foreman role.
    • Proven ability to read and interpret engineering, structural and GA/detail drawings.
    • Thorough understanding of mechanical drawings
    • Good at Autocad and Microsoft Excel
    • Knowledge of welding and cutting process, hand tools
    • Knowledge of TQM / 5S / QC tools

    SYSPRO Administrator

    The Role

    • Reporting to the IT Manager, you will be responsible for the administration, support, optimisation and continuous improvement of the SYSPRO ERP environment across the business.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Administer and maintain the SYSPRO ERP environment across test, development and production environments
    • Monitor system performance and support upgrades, patches, backups and disaster recovery
    • Manage SYSPRO user accounts, roles, permissions and access controls
    • Maintain the integrity of master data, including inventory, BOMs, customers, suppliers, warehouses and routing data
    • Provide 1st and 2nd line SYSPRO support and troubleshoot system-related issues

    • Demonstrated experience managing the full HR function, rather than specialising in one area of HR.
    • Solid payroll experience and understanding is essential – candidates who are purely HR-focused without meaningful payroll exposure will not be suitable.
    • Experience with Sage People or a comparable payroll system will be advantageous.
