    Campus Head – Chris Hani Nursing Colege

    Requirements :

    • A SAQA recognized NQF level 9 (Master’s Degree in Nursing) tertiary qualification in Nursing. Registration with the South African Nursing Council as a General Nurse and Midwife. Eleven (11) years’ experience as a Professional Nurse of which seven (7) years of the period referred to above must be appropriate/recognizable experience in a Nursing Education Institution after qualifying as a Nurse Educator.
    • Experience in educational programme development, research and three (3) years of the period referred to above must be appropriate/recognizable management experience in nursing education in a College or a Higher Education Institution.
    • A valid South African driver’s license. Computer certificate/literacy. 

    Duties :

    • Develop, implement and monitor the strategic plans of the campus. Market the corporate image of the campus.     Principal of Gauteng Nursing College (GCON)

    Requirements :

    • A grade 12 Certificate, a Basic qualification in nursing registered with the SANC in terms of Government Notice 425 (i.e. Diploma/Degree in nursing) or equivalent qualification that allows registration with SANC as a Professional Nurse.
    • Post basic qualifications in Nursing Education and Nursing Management/Administration, both qualifications registered with the SANC. A SAQA recognized NQF level 9 (Master’s Degree in Nursing) tertiary qualification in Nursing.

    Duties :

    • Provides leadership and direction to ensure the effective and efficient planning and delivery of wide range of Nursing Education and Training Programmes (undergraduate and postgraduate).     • Provides leadership on issues and standards associated with the delivery of nursing training programmes .     Director - Mental Health

    Requirements :

    • A Grade 12 Certificate. MBCHB degree. Current registration with the HPCSA. A postgraduate qualification in Management will be an added advantage.
    • Eight (8) years’ experience in the health sector of which five (5) years should be practical management experience in mental health/psychiatry discipline and three (3) years management experience.
    • Knowledge and understanding of the legislations, related regulations and policies in the public sector particularly the Mental Health Act 17 of 2002. Computer literacy. 

    Duties :

    • Provides leadership and direction to ensure the effective and efficient planning and delivery of mental health care in consultation with Clinical Directors and Hospital Management.     • Ensures the development and maintenance of Mental Health frameworks to ensure compliance with relevant statutory and legislative requirements pertaining to mental health. Establishing/promoting collaboration between primary care providers and primary care provided through the health services.

    Requirements :

    • An appropriate Degree/Advanced Diploma at NQF level 7 in health-related field and registration with the relevant professional body. A postgraduate qualification in Management will be an added advantage.

    Senior Manager Medical Services

    Requirements :

    • Appropriate qualifications that allows registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Medical Practitioner.
    • Current HPCSA registration as a Medical Practitioner. A minimum of three (3) years appropriate experience as Medical Officer after registration with the HPCSA as Medical Practitioner.

    Duties :

    • Serve as the senior member of the hospital executive management team responsible for the leadership and management of the delivery of clinical services to patients referred to Steve Biko Academic Hospital. Perform administrative duties of the Departments. Ensure that quality assurance, including clinical audits, are conducted in the Department in line with National Core Standards and lead the department. Provide strategic leadership in terms of Corporate Services to the hospital. Actively contribute to the formulation and implementation of the hospital business and operational plans.
    • Support the hospital Executive and General Management with the day to day running of the department. Monitor the utilisation of supplies, equipment and facilities while assuring alignment with the hospital’s goals and objectives. Work collaboratively with Chief Executive Officers within the cluster and Senior Management to ensure efficient and effective daily operations including staffing, patient management and safety, training, professional development, management, referrals etc.
    • Develop and implement business strategies and plans to prepare, respond and recover from disruptions or diseases. Track expenses related to equipment and supplies to identify opportunities for cost savings and ensure that expenditures are within budget. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of policies and resources overtime, adjust as needed to improve health outcomes.
    • Work closely with the CFO to monitor grant business plans to improve efficiency in utilisation. Forecast staffing requirements and patterns to proactively identify staffing requirements to meet strategic goals. Participate in the management of activities of Steve Biko Academic Hospital as a whole and attend all relevant management meetings.
    • Lead transformation in Clinical Service and ensure the employment of previously disadvantaged individuals in terms of race, gender and disability to achieve employment equity and diversity. Management of human and financial resources.

    Director - Infrastructure Maintenance

    Requirements :

    • A grade 12 Certificate, a Bachelor's Degree in Civil/Structural or Electrical/Mechanical Engineering; Quantity Surveying; Architecture; Construction Management; Project Management. Registered as a Professional Engineer with ECSA or any other relevant body within built environment. Executive Course or Certificate in Infrastructure Delivery Management.     • To provide for the effective and efficient management of the maintenance of Healthcare Facilities, laundries, utilities, other infrastructure and the related technical support services that sustain an enabling environment for healthcare delivery in a cost-effective manner.
    • Manage the maintenance of health facilities, utilities and infrastructure. Determine the inputs for the scheduled and preventative maintenance plans/strategies including conceptual planning for scheduled maintenance. Determine the inputs to Health Facilities in terms of day-to-day maintenance.
    • Coordinate and monitor the implementation of the maintenance plans. Monitor the implementation of the day-to-day and preventative maintenance. Monitor the resolving of emergency breakdowns.
    • Manage the research and analysis of maintenance information. Provide inputs to Health Facilities in terms of planning for disposals of related equipment.     • Develop guidelines for the maintenance of Health Facilities in close consultation with the Directorate Infrastructure Planning. Determine detailed maintenance and supply specifications for procurement for day-to-day maintenance, emergency maintenance, minor capital and major equipment installations based on the standardized specifications provided by Directorate Infrastructure Planning.
    • Update the databank of standard specifications. Make input to the procurement process for day-to-day, emergency and routine/preventative maintenance. Oversee the implementation of the provisions of the Occupational Health and Safety Act related to equipment safety in Health Facilities [compliance].

    • A Grade 12 Certificate, an appropriate Degree (NQF level 7) in health-related field.
