    Associate Professor / Senior Lecturer - Bellville

    Minimum Requirements

    For the post of Associate Professor the following criteria shall apply:

    • A relevant PhD associated with Curriculum Studies: Teacher Education or a related field (like Mathematics Education, Language Education, etc.)
    • Demonstrated experience in facilitating learning and teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels
    • A strong research and academic publications record relevant to curriculum studies and/or teacher education 
    • An excellent record of successful postgraduate supervision 
    • Experience in curriculum development and transformation 
    • Experience in leading or participating in and securing research funding for large‐scale research projects 

    For the post of Senior Lecturer the following criteria shall apply:

    • A relevant PhD associated with Curriculum Studies: Teacher Education or a related field (like Mathematics Education, Language Education, etc.)
    • Demonstrated experience in facilitating learning and teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels
    • A good research and academic publications record (comprising relevant peer reviewed accredited journal articles, books or book chapters in reputable publications) 
    • A record of successful postgraduate supervision 
    • Experience in curriculum development and transformation 
    • Experience in Teaching practice and teacher development 

    Recommendation for appointment at the level of Associate Professor (in addition to the above minimum requirements):

    • An NRF rating is a strong recommendation
    • Experience in Teaching Practice and teacher development

    Administrator: Department (Internal Only) - (1819)

    Key Performance Areas

    The successful candidate will be expected to: Assume the role and responsibilities of an Administrator: Department which involves, and is not limited to, the following:

    •  Academic Administration: Assist with applications and admissions process, registrations, examination and marks administration, check documentation, contact applicants, liaise with Faculty Office and internal stakeholders regarding selections, assist with postgraduate promotions processes etc.
    • Enquiry Management: Respond to queries (verbal, written or telephonic) relating to programmes offered in the Department in consultation with the Head of Departmental
    • Marks Administration: Capture all marks on the marks administration system (UG / PG: assignments, tutorials, tests, exams, SDAs etc)
    • Committee Administration: Compile agenda items and meeting documentation as required by Faculty / Departmental and Institutional committees
    • Financial Administration: Monitoring of departmental budgets, assist with collation of data for budgets, coordinate all purchasing /procurement for department in consultation with faculty office, obtain quotes etc.
    • Meeting Administration: Arrange meetings as required, meeting administration including scheduling, collation of documentation, securing venues, arranging catering etc.
    • Marketing and Recruitment: Assist with all marketing, recruitment and promotional drives for the department
    • General Administration: Administrative support to the Departmental Chair, distribution of messages and mail to staff within the department, departmental minute taking, general student queries provide reports and information to HoD as required
    • Assets Management: Equipment maintenance, monitor assets within the department
    • Event administration: Assist with organisation of events, communicating with internal and external stakeholders
    • Human Resources Administration: Liaise with employees / candidates regarding documents for contracts, liaise with Faculty office regarding contract appointments, record keeping, work study management

    Minimum Requirements

    • Three year post matric qualification (NQF 7) with at least 2 years’ relevant Higher Education experience OR
    • Matric plus 3-5years’ relevant Higher Education experience
    • Working knowledge of a student enrolment management system / University systems (SASI, MAS etc).
    • Proficient in MS Office

    Associate Lecturer - (1811)

    The successful candidate for Associate Lecturer will be responsible for the following key performance areas:

    • Facilitate learning and teaching at undergraduate level in Public Administration or related field
    • Academic administration
    • Conduct research in Public Administration 
    • Undertake Honours level supervision
    • Participate in community engagement and outreach

    Minimum Requirements

    • Master’s degree in the field of Public Administration 
    • Tutoring and/or facilitation experience

    Added Advantages:

    • Registered for a PHD in Public Administration
    • Demonstrated experience in facilitating learning and teaching in Public Administration

    Professor/Associate Professor in Finance - (1808)

    The successful candidate will be responsible for the following key performance areas:

    • Facilitate learning and teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels in risk management & modelling, corporate finance, asset markets and pricing, and financial technology
    • Conduct research and publish in risk management & modelling, corporate finance, asset markets and pricing, and financial technology
    • Undergraduate and postgraduate supervision 
    • Provide academic leadership and administration 
    • Undertake curriculum development and assessment 
    • Participate in community engagement and outreach 
    • Other related duties assigned by the chair of the department  

    Minimum Requirements

    Minimum Requirements - Professor 

    • PhD or equivalent in the field of finance or economics or a related field
    • Demonstrated experience in facilitating learning and teaching in the field of risk management & modelling, corporate finance, asset markets and pricing, or financial technology
    • A significant record of quality peer reviewed publications, preferably in one or more of the following fields of risk management & modelling, corporate finance, asset markets and pricing, or financial technology
    • A significant record of successful postgraduate supervision 
    • Evidence of the integration of community engagement with learning and teaching and/or research 
    • Evidence of expertise, national standing, and definite international presence in his/her discipline 
    • Experience in generating research grants  

    Minimum Requirements - Associate Professor

    Budget Accountant - (1817)

    Duties will include, but are not limited to:

    • Setting budgets and allocating resources
    • Managing actual expenditure within parameters
    • Analysing and reporting financial data
    • Providing support to business units
    • Reporting to management and governance structure
    • Facilitation of audits and compliance reporting on earmarked grants
    • Advise management and governance structures on elements of Funding and Costing

    Minimum Requirements

    • A relevant B.Com Degree (Accounting) or an equivalent 
    • At least 5 years’ experience within a financial environment
    • Sound knowledge of the Higher Educational environment will be advantageous
    • Professional knowledge of financial and management accounting
    • Strong analytical (financial & non-financial) and mathematical ability
    • Sound written and verbal communication skills

    Library Assistant - (1809)

    The successful incumbent will be responsible for: 

    • Perform library clientele duties i.e. Circulation; Short loans; ILL etc.
    • Basic catalogue & databases searches
    • Provide support to research services i.e. RDM
    • Perform virtual & in-person reference services
    • Collection development and maintenance
    • Assist and participate in Library marketing and other projects. 

    Minimum Requirements

    Minimum Requirements (Qualification and Experience): 

    • Grade 12 certificate at NQF Level 4 plus two years’ working experience in an academic library setting

    OR

    • A B. BLIS Degree or equivalent qualification

    AND

    • Experience working with cloud storage & sharing applications

    Required competencies (skills, knowledge and behavioural attributes): 

    • Good communication and interpersonal skills
    • Demonstrable knowledge of library management system
    • Sound understanding of library operations
    • Exposure to open science activities i.e. RDM
    • Knowledge of library systems - catalogue and databases
