    Sales Engineer HVAC

    Job Description

    • Join Johnson Controls as a Sales Engineer HVAC and play a pivotal role in driving our growth in Sub-Saharan Africa. Based in Longmeadow, Johannesburg, you will be at the forefront of expanding our HVAC+R products portfolio, working with a dynamic team to deliver innovative solutions to our clients.

    What You Will Do:

    • Expand market share in Sub-Saharan Africa for HVAC+R products.
    • Engage with contractors, engineering firms, and consultants.
    • Provide technical knowledge and training to clients.
    • Design and estimate solutions for customer enquiries.
    • Manage project and administrative tasks, ensuring smooth order processing and project handovers.

    How You Will Do It:

    • Conduct site visits and cold calls to build relationships.
    • Use JCI tools and software for design and estimation (Yorkworks, AEC Works, Solution Navigator, etc.).
    • Collaborate with sales teams to secure orders and deliver tailored solutions.
    • Stay updated with industry developments and new products.
    • Record activities and use Salesforce extensively as a CRM
    • Travel locally and across Africa as needed.

    What We Look For:

    • Preferred Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
    • Essential experience in the local HVAC market, particularly in selling chillers to consultants and contractors.
    • Outgoing personality, comfortable with meeting new people.
    • Strong time management and communication skills.
    • Proficiency in AutoCAD and DWG TrueView.
    • Flexibility to work outside normal hours for global coordination.

    HVAC-Chiller Technician-Carletonville

    What You Will Do

    • The HVAC-Chiller Technician-Carletonville will be reporting to Operations Team Leader, Africa HVAC Sales. You will be supporting customers by executing the tasks of installation and commissioning of equipment, planned/unplanned maintenance and repairs as well as servicing of equipment as per Service Contracts/maintenance schedules. You will be mostly working on the customer’s site. Being the face of the company in the eyes of the customer, you will be holding a key role in the organization with the mission of providing excellent service to your clients.

    How You Will Do It

    • As an HVAC-Chiller Technician, you will be responsible for completing site surveys, installing equipment, minimizing damage to installed equipment by careful placement of units, upgrading and/or refurbishing equipment where required, thoroughly testing equipment to analyze faults and making sure equipment conforms to the system manual. You will be commissioning systems and equipment using standard configuration and commissioning tools. You will also be maintaining and repairing installed equipment, providing maintenance according to Service Contracts (bi-weekly, monthly or annually), following preventative maintenance schedule, responding to call outs timeously, testing malfunctioning systems and components, overhauling equipment and identifying what needs to be repaired, troubleshooting and resolving problems effectively, providing feedback on failures and suggested improvements to customer and Client Service Manager/Technician Team Leader and bringing faulty equipment back to Johnson Controls while also completing the correct paperwork. You will obtain additional sales of equipment and services by proactively identifying client needs on site and informing Technician Team Leader/CSM. You will provide value-added consulting advice to customers in order to gain repeat business.
