    Junior IT Technician

    • As a Junior IT Technician, your responsibility is to provide technical support and assistance to end-users. You will help troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues, ensuring the smooth operation of IT systems and minimizing downtime.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Assist in the setup and configuration of PCs, laptops, printers, and other IT equipment, including remote install, configure, and troubleshooting of computer hardware, software, and peripherals at the mining sites
    • Diagnose root cause problems, determine possible solutions and repair accordingly. Record causes and solutions and update and finalize all completed job cards/helpdesk queries with this information once functionality has been established
    • Request approval for replacement of hardware and replace when required and test for proper functionality
    • Diagnose any allocated network problems, plan and execute solutions, monitor progress and test functionality
    • Install new assets, devices, hardware and software and network equipment as per job card request
    • Compile replacement capital list annually. Repossess and store unused workstations on personnel movement
    • To maintain and manage assets, devices, network, hardware and software infrastructure according to allocated job cards and in accordance with operating procedures
    • Conduct mini risk assessment in own area of work and within span of control prior to every task performed
    • All defects and status of tools and equipment are recorded, signed and handed over to the supervisor
    • Relevant tools and electrical equipment is maintained and functional and utilized according to manufacturer specifications
    • Perform housekeeping duties when and where necessary
    • Follow waste management procedure when necessary
    • Perform routine maintenance and upgrades on IT Related systems to ensure optimal performance and security
    • Provide technical support for Microsoft 365 applications, including troubleshooting issues related to Office Suite tools, ERP and other software and technologies
    • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights within MS 365 environment
    • Collaborate with Head office and remote IT teams to resolve complex technical problems and implement effective solutions
    • Monitor and maintain network infrastructure, ensuring reliable connectivity and smooth operation of LAN and WAN systems
    • Troubleshoot network issues, including connectivity problems, DNS, DHCP, and firewall configurations
    • Conduct regular backups and ensure data integrity and disaster recovery procedures are in place
    • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in IT technology and propose enhancements to optimize system performance
    • Provide training and technical guidance to end-users on various IT tools and applications
    • Adhere to IT policies, procedures, and security protocols to protect sensitive data and maintain regulatory compliance

    Minimum requirements:

    • Relevant IT Diploma/Degree
    • 3 years’ of relevant experience in Desktop Technician Level 1 / Lan/Wan Management
    • Familiarity with biometric software and ERP systems
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to identify, analyse and resolve technical issues efficiently

    Stores Specialist

    • The Stores Specialist is responsible for designing and implementing efficient storage layouts, cataloguing items, managing binning strategies, and developing processes and procedures to ensure optimal inventory management for a mining operation. The role will support Stores Controllers, contribute to the maintenance of SAP master data, and ensure that materials and tools are stored, tracked, and easily accessible.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Storage Design and Layout:
    • Plan and implement effective Store layouts, ensuring maximum space utilization and ease of access
    • Design storage solutions for a variety of items, including heavy machinery parts, tools, and consumables
    • Establish and maintain binning strategies to optimize stock retrieval and replenishment
    • Capex plan for storage facilities.
    • Cataloguing and Inventory Management:
    • Develop and maintain a catalogue of all stock items with clear and accurate descriptions
    • Standardize item naming conventions and ensure alignment with SAP master data
    • Assist in creating and maintaining item records, stock levels, and reorder points in SAP
    • Process and Procedure Development:
    • Develop and document standard operating procedures (SOPs) for stores management
    • Implement and monitor best practices for stock handling, storage, and distribution
    • Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations within the stores area
    • SAP Master Data Management:
    • Assist in the creation and maintenance of SAP material master data
    • Collaborate with the procurement and logistics teams to ensure data accuracy and integrity
    • Train Stores Controllers and other stakeholders in the use of SAP for inventory management
    • Support and Training:
    • Provide technical support and guidance to Stores Controllers
    • Train staff on cataloguing, binning, and inventory management procedures
    • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of stores operations and recommend improvements
    • Continuous Improvement:
    • Identify opportunities for process enhancements to improve efficiency and reduce costs
    • Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging technologies in inventory and warehouse management

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Diploma or degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field
    • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in inventory or stores management, preferably in a mining or industrial environment
    • Proficiency in SAP MM (Materials Management) or a similar ERP system
    • Strong understanding of inventory control principles and warehouse management
    • Ability to design and implement effective binning and storage systems
    • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
    • Strong organizational and time-management abilities
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
    • Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations in a mining context
    • Flexibility to work in remote locations and adapt to challenging environments
    • Effective implementation of storage layouts and binning strategies
    • Accuracy and completeness of SAP master data records
    • Adherence to inventory management procedures and safety standards
    • Reduction in stock discrepancies and operational downtime
    • Timely and efficient training of Stores Controllers

    Stores Clerk

    • As a Stores Clerk, you will be responsible for managing inventory, ensuring timely replenishment of supplies, and maintaining accurate records of stock movements.

    Key responsibilities:

    • Manage and maintain inventory levels, ensuring accurate stock counts at all times
    • Receive and inspect incoming supplies, verifying quantities and quality
    • Issue supplies to various departments and maintain accurate records of all transactions
    • Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery and resolving any issues that may arise
    • Assist in the development and implementation of inventory management procedures
    • Conduct regular stock audits to identify discrepancies and implement corrective actions
    • Collaborate with other teams to forecast future demand and optimize inventory levels
    • Daily, weekly and monthly cycle count
    • Prepare reports
    • General administration

    Minimum requirements:

    • Grade 12 (Matric)
    • 3years experience as a Stores Clerk in the mining / engineering industry
    • Knowledge of mining equipment, tools, and materials
    • Proficient in using inventory management systems and software
    • MS Excel reporting - non-negotiable
    • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    • Physically fit
    • Willing to be on standby for callouts and emergencies (weekends and after hours)
