    Clerk (Eastern Cape)

    KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

    • Capture and scan all consent and follow-up forms from Right to Care-supported VMMC sites onto various systems.  All original documents must be submitted to the District Office within seven days after completion of the circumcision.
    • Record all consent forms onto VMMC registers.
    • Ensure data accuracy by identifying data quality errors and communicate these to the relevant stakeholders.
    • Verify the completeness of the consent-, follow-up forms and patient registers.
    • Verify the completeness and accuracy of information captured against the source document.  This verification must include both Right to Care and Department of Health data systems.
    • Screen all potential clients and ensure that they meet the specified and agreed criteria in order to be circumcised.
    • Report and submit daily, weekly, and monthly statistics from supported VMMC sites as per agreed deadlines, reporting criteria and procedures.
    • In collaboration with the national call centre, ensure that all leads are followed up and scheduled accurately with regular reporting as per national call centre requirements.
    • Ensure that the site visit and mentorship books are updated at all times.
    • Provide assistance to all people as per the Batho Pele and Patients’ Rights Charter principles.
    • Ensure proper stock control, and safety and security of assets at fixed sites.  

         Required Minimum Education and Experience :

    • Matric (Senior Certificate)
    • Basic Computer Literacy
    • Valid code 10 driver's licence
    • 1 Year clerical experience
    • Qualification in Office Administration
    • 2-3 years clerical experience and basic VMMC knowledge

    Epidemiologist (Gauteng)

    Description

    Research design, analysis and implementation.

    • Oversee the development and maintenances of project and study data bases
    • To coordinate and perform statistical analysis of the implementation research  programs
    • To advise and consult on statistical methods for research projects
    • To help with protocol development, including sample size calculations and appropriate design 
    • To help develop and design research tools as well as monitor the progress of research projects within Right to Care
    • To assist with grant application, including development and writing of statistical analysis plans or evaluation methods sections as required
    • To assist with the supervision of postgraduate students in statistical analysis to support research outputs including Masters and PhD students for University of Witwatersrand and other tertiary institutions.
    • Oversee data analysis and write up results
    • Liaison with the Health Economics and Epidemiology Research Office regarding costing program implementation, and epidemiology projects

    Developing research strategies.

    • To assist the senior research head and RTC program managers to develop research projects
    • To keep informed of current research and methods so that can assist with identification of new research projects

    Research dissemination.

    • To help with the writing of scientific publications, including background and methods sections of manuscripts for peer reviewed journals
    • To - write abstracts and be capable of presenting posters or oral presentations at appropriate conferences
    • To help interpret and disseminate research findings internally and to universities
    • To help interpret and disseminate research to policy makers and implementers such as Department of Health, communities and media

    Required Minimum Education/experience

    • Master of Science
    • Statistics or Epidemiology
    • Knowledge of SAS or Strata 
    • Working knowledge of HIV and co-morbidities
    • At least 2 years experience project
    • and data base management  
    • Able to work and think independentle
    •  Able to maintain patient and work confidentiality
    •  Good organizational and communication skills

    Demand Creation Manager (VMMC) (eThekwini)

    Description

    •  Work closely with Group Manager: Communications in developing a demand creation and social mobilisation strategy specifically addressing the local context of each district that RTC operates in.
    • Coordinate with demand creation partners that campaign development and implementation are in line with RTC’s overarching demand creation strategy.
    • Ensuring implementation of the plan on district level. Understand and know each district we work in as well as the opportunities and challenges of meeting targets in each district.
    • Understanding and implementation of cultural specific messaging per individual district.
    • Understanding of traditional leadership structures and the ability to work with confidence and in collaboration with traditional leaderships re the integration of MMC and TMI.
    • Working with the Central as well as Provincial teams, ensure MMC demand creation is a well-coordinated and seemless process in al RTC operating districts.
    • Management and coordination of the MMC demand creation and social mobilisation team activities and performance of the facilities/districts.
    • Provide coaching and mentorship to Outreach Officers and Social Moblisers on Provincial and District levels regarding demand creation programme performance.
    • Ensure MMC targets for facilities are met in conjunction with the cross-cutting management team
    • Conduct meetings as needed with the Provincial and District MMC demand creation teams to determine progress, any issues and any suggested improvements.
    • Attend provincial and District demand creation and HAST meetings or delegate as and when required.
    • Provide reporting to the MMC General Manager and Group Manager: Communication on all MMC demand creation issues.
    • Submit monthly reports on demand creation and social mobilization progress to the General Manager.
    • Facilitate drawing up of monthly demand creation plans based on quarterly plans.
    • Support the Operational Manager to ensure operational and clinical support and flow between demand creation team and the operational as well as clinical team is seamless and coordinated.
    • Support in operational needs of broad MMC programme management – both operational and clinical.
    • Manage the submission of social mobilisation and demand creation reports ensure deadlines are met.
    • Manage provision and monitoring of accurate lead generation data for progress towards achievement of set area targets.
    • Ensure regular feedback on data submission and that data gaps are addressed timeously and appropriately.
    • Work with M&E Officer to encourage use of data to make informed decisions on priority demand creation interventions.
    • Communicate RTC demand creation strategy with regards to government programmes.
    • Manage strategic direction for integration of all district demand creation and social mobilisation plans to ensure no duplication of effort.
    • Manage and facilitate open lines of communication between district demand creation coordinators and RTC Programme Management.
    • Communicate with MMC General Manager on demand creation  progress monthly.
    • Support MMC demand creation coordinators in implementing support measures for staff development.
    • Review MMC Outreach Officers as well as overseeing social mobiliser’s performance monthly and lead performance improvement plans for underperforming staff.
    • Implement countermeasures for areas that have not met targets.

    Requirements

    • An appropriate Diploma or Degree in marketing or any of the human sciences
    • 3-5 years experience in demand creation program management
    • 3-5 years of operational VMMC experience
