    Lecturer: Industrial Engineering

    JOB DESCRIPTION:

    • The incumbent will be required to: {KPA’S}
    • Academic leadership – Develop and review course materials, teach and assess students at undergraduate/postgraduate levels, prepare teaching and learning portfolios as evidence of compliance to standards, and take part in department management tasks delegated by the HOD and report on achievement in PMC.
    • Research: propose and design research concept notes and concept maps for postgraduate research in the department's field of specialisation, undertake postgraduate supervision and examination, research, and publish accredited research outputs.
    • Develop curriculum in applicable field of specialization - influence the curriculum's development, maintenance, and control.
    • Industry relationship building and external engagement – Liaise with the industry, including consultation work, project proposals, and collaborative research projects.
    • Community engagement—Develop community engagement project content and study guides, implement them, and participate in community flagship programs/projects.
    • Internal process – Conduct ad-hoc duties as assigned by the line manager

    APPLICATION CRITERIA:

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's (BEng/ BTech/ BSc Eng), and Master’s Degrees (MEng/ MTech/ MSc Eng), in Industrial Engineering or related field of study.

    Or

    • Dip (Eng), Adv Dip (Eng), PGDip (Eng), and Master’s Degrees (MEng/ MTech/ MSc Eng) in Industrial Engineering or related field of study.
    • Reasonable progress towards attaining a doctoral qualification.
    • Evidence of research productivity in the form of accredited journal articles, peer-reviewed conference proceedings, patents, etc.

    Experience:

    • A minimum of two (2) years (after Master’s level) of relevant lecturing experience in the field in an institute of higher education OR three (3) years of professional industry experience in Industrial Engineering.
    • Professional registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa
    • Evidence of successful teamwork experience.

    Senior Lecturer: Mechanical Engineering

    • Evidence of active participation in professional, industry, and community activities.
    • Knowledge and experience in implementing quality assurance requirements
    • Professional registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa

    Added Advantage

    • Knowledge and experience in the field of Mechatronics is an advantage.
    • Research outputs and supervision of master’s and PhD students are an added advantage
    • Industry or practice experience is a recommendation.
    • Further appropriate qualifications are strongly recommended.

    Senior Office Administrator

    DESCRIPTION:

    • Key performance areas include but are not limited to:
    • Handle inquiries and liaise with internal and external stakeholders;
    • Manage the front desk;
    • Oversee all operational aspects in the line-manager’s office;
    • Minute-taking at all meetings;
    • Manage the diary of the line-manager;
    • Coordinate and manage meetings, events, and workshops;
    • Booking of venues; caterers, emails to invitees; access control arrangements;

    Senior Lecturer/Lecturer in Logistics and Supply Chain Management X2

    JOB DESCRIPTION:
    Key performance areas include but are not limited to:

    • Developed learning material;
    • Lecture Logistics and Supply Chain Management related subjects;

    • Liaise with industry, professional bodies, and other educational institutions;

    • Minimum of five (senior lecturer) or two (lecturer) years of teaching/lecturing or industry-related experience is required.
    • Membership of relevant professional bodies is an added advantage.
    • Evidence of research publications and academic conference papers would be an added advantage.
