    Project Manager

    Purpose of the Role

    • The Facilities Project Manager is responsible for the end-to-end planning, coordination and delivery of Facilities Management projects and services across assigned sites or key accounts.
    • The role ensures that facilities projects and operational services are delivered safely, efficiently, on time, within budget and in accordance with contractual requirements, service level agreements (SLAs), statutory legislation and client expectations.
    • The role combines project management, facilities operations, technical services, contract management, financial control, stakeholder engagement and people leadership to drive operational excellence, client satisfaction, continuous improvement and sustainable business growth.

    Education & Experience

    • Degree or Diploma in Project Management (must have)
    • Relevant Degree or Diploma in Facilities Management, Property Management, Engineering, Commerce, Business Management or a related field
    • Relevant Postgraduate qualification at NQF Level 8 (would be advantageous)
    • Minimum 5 years' experience in Facilities Management, Property Management, Engineering or a related technical environment
    • Minimum 3 -5 years' experience in a management or supervisory capacity
    • Minimum 3 years' experience managing facilities projects, technical services or industrial/site-based operations
    • Proven experience in hard services and technical facilities management
    • Experience managing both technical and non-technical teams, including subcontractors and service providers
    • Experience in key account, contract and client relationship management
    • Experience in budgeting, cost control, procurement and financial reporting
    • Experience in project planning, mobilisation, implementation and operational handover
    • Valid driver's licence
    • Previous experience in mining would be an advantage

    Key Areas of Responsibility

    Facilities Project & Site Management

    • Lead the planning, coordination and execution of facilities-related projects from initiation through to completion and handover.
    • Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, budgets, milestones, resource requirements and delivery strategies.
    • Manage site services, buildings, infrastructure, equipment and associated support services.
    • Ensure projects and operational activities are delivered in accordance with approved scope, specifications, timelines, budgets and contractual requirements.
    • Coordinate cross-site and cross-functional projects to expand, consolidate or improve Facilities Management services.
    • Support the mobilisation and implementation of new contracts and business opportunities.
    • Monitor project and site performance through weekly, monthly and quarterly reporting.
    • Identify project dependencies, constraints, risks and opportunities and implement appropriate mitigation measures.
    • Ensure minimal operational disruption during project implementation and service delivery.

    Technical & Operational Facilities Management

    • Oversee planned and reactive maintenance, repairs, replacements and upgrades of buildings, plant, equipment and infrastructure.
    • Coordinate hard and soft facilities services, including maintenance, cleaning, catering, housekeeping, reception and other support services where applicable.
    • Manage internal technical teams, contractors and outsourced service providers to ensure quality and timely delivery.
    • Ensure facilities equipment, materials, consumables and resources are appropriately planned, available and controlled.
    • Drive operational efficiency, standardisation, innovation and continuous improvement across facilities services.
    • Ensure effective asset, maintenance and resource planning to support service continuity.

    Contract & Client Management

    • Ensure delivery of Facilities Management services in accordance with contractual obligations, SLAs, KPIs and agreed service standards.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, contractors and internal stakeholders.
    • Conduct regular client meetings, operational reviews and quarterly business reviews.
    • Understand client operational requirements and translate these into practical facilities solutions.
    • Monitor customer satisfaction and implement corrective actions where service expectations are not being met.
    • Prepare and present project, operational and performance reports to clients and senior management.
    • Identify opportunities for upselling, cross-selling and expansion of Facilities Management services.
    • Support tender, bid and business development activities where required.

    Financial & Commercial Management

    • Develop and manage project and account budgets in accordance with financial policies and procedures.
    • Monitor expenditure against approved budgets and provide variance analysis and corrective action.
    • Drive cost optimisation while maintaining service quality and contractual performance.
    • Manage labour, maintenance, materials, consumables and project-related expenditure.
    • Contribute to procurement planning and ensure purchasing activities comply with supply chain requirements.
    • Monitor project financial performance, profitability and resource utilisation.
    • Identify commercial risks and opportunities and escalate material issues appropriately.

    Risk, SHEQ & Compliance

    • Conduct regular facilities and project risk assessments and ensure identified risks are appropriately mitigated.
    • Ensure compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act, National Building Regulations, applicable environmental legislation and other relevant statutory requirements.
    • Ensure compliance with company SHEQ policies, procedures and quality standards.
    • Coordinate health and safety requirements associated with facilities projects and site operations.
    • Ensure appropriate appointment, training and availability of First Aiders, Fire Marshals and other designated safety representatives.
    • Implement and monitor environmental, waste management and sustainability initiatives.
    • Ensure appropriate quality assurance processes and corrective action plans are implemented.
    • Maintain accurate project, compliance, contract and site documentation.

    People Management & Leadership

    • Lead, manage and develop multidisciplinary facilities and project teams.
    • Manage recruitment, onboarding, performance management, training, talent development and employee relations within the assigned portfolio.
    • Establish clear performance expectations, targets and accountability structures.
    • Coordinate workforce planning, staffing levels, rostering and resource allocation.
    • Manage communication between project teams, operational teams, clients and management.
    • Promote a culture of accountability, safety, service excellence and continuous improvement.
    • Develop team capability through coaching, training and performance feedback.

    Governance, Reporting & Continuous Improvement

    • Maintain accurate and timely project, financial, operational and compliance reporting.

    Electrician

    Main Purpose of the Role

    • We are seeking a skilled and experienced Electrician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting, fault-finding and repair of the site’s electrical infrastructure, plant, and equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations.
    • The role will support the availability and reliability of critical infrastructure while minimising equipment downtime and maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and service delivery.
    • The incumbent will work across a range of electrical and associated mechanical systems, utilising specialised tools, equipment and technical techniques to assemble, dismantle, align, calibrate, and maintain machinery and components in accordance with required operational standards. Previous experience within laboratory, facilities management, engineering, or other critical infrastructure environments will be advantageous.
    • The Electrician will also contribute to the continuous improvement and effectiveness of the department’s maintenance management system, including SAP Plant Maintenance (SAP PM), by ensuring accurate work execution, effective maintenance planning, comprehensive documentation, and timely feedback on completed maintenance activities.

    Education, Qualifications and Experience Required

    • N4–N6 Electrical Engineering qualification.
    • Electrical Trade Test – Section 26D or Section 13.
    • Valid licence to operate on Medium Voltage (MV) networks.
    • Valid Three-Phase Wireman’s Licence.
    • Licensed and registered with the Department of Employment and Labour, where applicable.
    • Experience in electrical maintenance within a facilities, laboratory, engineering, manufacturing, or critical infrastructure environment will be advantageous.

    Key Areas of Responsibility

    Electrical Maintenance & Infrastructure

    • Maintain, inspect, troubleshoot, repair and test electrical infrastructure, plant, and equipment to ensure safe, reliable and continuous operation.
    • Perform planned, preventative, and predictive maintenance on electrical and associated infrastructure systems.
    • Monitor and maintain commercial and critical site infrastructure to optimise equipment availability, performance, and reliability.

    Laboratory & Critical Infrastructure Support

    • Provide technical electrical support to laboratory facilities, including system configuration, maintenance, troubleshooting, and fault resolution.
    • Ensure electrical infrastructure supporting laboratory operations remains safe, reliable, and fit for purpose.
    • Monitor critical infrastructure and associated systems to identify potential operational risks and prevent unplanned downtime.

    Health, Safety & Compliance

    Client & Service Delivery

    • Comply with established working procedures, service standards, and maintenance requirements to ensure all applicable Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Master Service Agreements (MSAs) are achieved.
    • Respond promptly and professionally to client electrical service requests and technical queries.
    • Investigate and resolve electrical faults efficiently to minimise operational disruption and downtime.
    • Communicate maintenance requirements, technical findings, risks, and corrective actions clearly to relevant stakeholders.
    • Monitor relevant customer network servers, storage systems and supporting infrastructure where required, escalating technical issues to the appropriate specialist teams.

    Maintenance Systems & Reporting

    • Capture and maintain accurate maintenance information within SAP PM and other applicable maintenance systems.
    • Ensure maintenance work orders are accurately completed, updated, and closed within required timeframes.
    • Provide timely feedback on completed work, outstanding defects, parts requirements, and follow-up maintenance activities.
    • Maintain accurate records of electrical inspections, repairs, preventative maintenance, and equipment condition.
    • Identify recurring equipment failures and recommend corrective or preventative measures to improve reliability and reduce downtime.
    • Contribute to the continuous improvement of maintenance processes, systems, and equipment reliability.
