    Technical Sales, Mining Site Sales

    Purpose of the role

    • To manage client relations, to promote and sell products, spare parts, and services in greenfield and brownfield applications related to pumps, cyclones, and valves in the region of SSAMESA.

    Your responsibilities

    Responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to:

    • To promote and sell products, spare parts, and services in greenfield and brownfield applications

    Responsible for growing PC&V installed base through:

    • Conversions
    • Rebuild programs
    • Winning site upgrade/expansions
    • Winning capital opportunities

    Must be technically able to:

    • Size and select PC&V equipment
    • Identify problems on site with pump and cyclone systems (Process/System knowledge)
    • Understand basic wear patterns
    • Know how each process variable effects the system
    • Up to date and in-depth knowledge of entire PC&V offering
    • Implement optimizations of pump and cyclone systems
    • Convey product benefits and value propositions
    • Provide installation, start up, and rebuild supervision and guidance
    • Work with customers to ensure inventory levels on site and at FLSmidth stocking centers are correct,
    • Work with PC&V Site Support Engineer to maintain strong relationship with Customers and site personnel.

    What you bring

    • NHD, BSC or B-Eng in Engineering.
    • At least 8 years’ experience within the mining & mineral processing industry.
    • At least 5 years’ experience in the product line.
    • At least 3 years’ experience in a business development role with a proven track record.
    • The ability to build strong professional relationships with end users, EPCMs, and contractors.
    • Effective verbal and written communication skills in English. Proficiency in other languages, spoken by Customers in the region will be advantageous.
    • Knowledge of selection, sizing, and operating parameters.
    • Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, co-workers, clients, vendors, contractors, and other stakeholders.
    • Proven negotiation and influencing skills – both external and internal.
    • Team player, able to balance multiple team memberships.                        
    • Good organization, multitasking and time management skills

    Regional Product Line Manager - Dewatering

    Role Purpose

    To build and develop the regional market in conjunction with the regional sales team (capital and service) and to drive the long-term business strategy for the product line with a view to increase market share and to promote retention of service business. Continuously improve product operational efficiency and the technical competence of the local team in the product line. Provide expert knowledge and support for the product line, from a process, mechanical, operational, maintenance and R&D perspective. To contribute strongly to the overall company result and culture.

    Your responsibilities

    • Lead the development of sustainable profitable growth of the product line for the region, by implementing the long-term strategy that aligns with FLSmidths’ mission zero vision and market opportunities.
    • Engage, motivate and influence individuals and large diverse teams (sales and service teams) to continually increase customer satisfaction related to the product line.
    • Customer Engagement: Meet potential and existing clients for growing, maintaining and leveraging client network for further business.  Gather regular feedback and monitor customer satisfaction.
    • Promotes and culture of personal and team safety, including who may be affect by the company’s operational activities.
    • Hold or develop the technical ability to support the internal and external customers of the product line from a process, mechanical, operational, maintenance and R&D perspective relevant to the product line.
    • Work closely with GPLM/GSLM
    • Work with sales and proposals teams to develop proposals that address client’s needs, concerns and objectives.
    • Give input for business development planning and attend industry functions, such as association events and conferences, present technical papers at these events, and provide feedback and information on market and creative trends.
    • Arrange and participate in internal and external client audits.
    • Arrange and participate in internal and external (customer) product training.
    • Be a highly recoverable resource
    • Present to and consult with mid and senior level management on business trends with a view to developing new services, products and distribution channels and advise on competitor activity for the product line.
    • Go-to-Market Strategy: Identify opportunities for campaigns, services, and distribution channels that will lead to an increase in sales.
    • Using knowledge of the market and competitors, identify and develop the product offering’s unique selling propositions and differentiators.
    • Support the sales teams in forecasting sales targets and in meeting these targets.

    What you bring

    • A relevant tertiary level qualification, ideally an engineering degree, in metallurgical, chemical or mechanical engineering
    • A qualification in business administration or commerce would be an advantage
    • At least 10 years’ experience within the mining industry
    • At least 5 years’ experience in the application selection of Sedimentation and Filtration product line internally or externally
    • At least 3 years’ experience in a business development role with demonstrable success in growing the business
    • Experience in product management and product life cycle
    • Experience in process testwork and how this influences application selection
    • Site experience in the operation, optimization and maintenance of thickening and filtration technologies
    • Existing strong network of key stakeholders within the mineral processing industry
    • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Good organisation, multitasking and time management skills that delivers effective planning and housekeeping standards
