    OpenStack Administrator

    Description

    The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing our OpenStack cloud infrastructure. This role involves working closely with other IT professionals to ensure the availability, reliability, and security of our cloud services.

    An OpenStack Administrator is a critical role in organizations that rely on OpenStack for their cloud infrastructure. The administrator's responsibilities are diverse and require a strong technical background in cloud computing and Linux systems administration.

    OpenStack Infrastructure Management

    • Deploy, configure, and maintain OpenStack infrastructure components, including compute, storage, and networking resources.
    • Monitor and optimize the performance of the OpenStack environment to ensure efficient resource utilization.

    Virtualization and Instance Management

    • Create and manage virtual machines (VMs) and instances within the OpenStack environment.
    • Handle instance provisioning, scaling, and maintenance tasks.

    Storage Management

    • Manage block and object storage resources within OpenStack (e.g., Cinder and Swift).
    • Implement and maintain data storage solutions as per requirements.

    Networking

    • Configure and maintain networking components such as Neutron for virtual network management.
    • Ensure network security and troubleshoot connectivity issues.

    Security and Access Control

    • Generate regular reports on the performance and health of the OpenStack environment.

    Collaboration and Support

    • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including developers and system administrators.
    • Provide technical support and assistance to end-users as needed.

    Requirements

    Knowledge, skills, and attributes

    • Strong knowledge of OpenStack components and architecture.
    • Familiarity with Linux operating systems.
    • Understanding of cloud networking concepts and security best practices.
    • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
    • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

    Education and training

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
    • Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified OpenStack Administrator) a plus.

    Experience

    • Proven experience as an OpenStack Administrator or in a similar cloud infrastructure role.
    • Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., KVM, VMware).
    • Scripting and automation skills (e.g., Python, Ansible).

    Description

    As the OD Facilitator, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and facilitating high quality training content for various projects within the business. This role focuses on identifying learning needs of our employees and deploying training initiatives to close gaps recognised within strict timeframes. In addition, strong relationship building, and administrative skills are required.

    • Assess the business training needs by conducting regular needs analysis through surveys, interviews, focus groups, and communication with all levels of business.

    Requirements

    • Flexible with working hours/shifts to accommodate business requirements. This role would be required to work day shift and night shift hours.
    • Familiar with online learning technology.
    • Minimum of 2 years facilitation experience (Management/Learnerships/Soft Skills).
    • Experience managing medium to large scale programs/projects while working cross-functionally with multiple teams and stakeholders.
    • Experience in using data collection, research, and analysis to evaluate project outcomes and improve and organizational performance.
    • Able to deliver training to senior levels of the business.
    • Readily available portfolio of work – presentations or samples of work that has been designed and developed.
    • Completed Train the Trainer, Assessor, Moderator.
    • BEE knowledge and understanding.

    Description

    The detail

    • Training preparation and facilitation - Update lesson plans, training material and versions to be used in facilitation of training in accordance with our curriculum, systems and/or product changes. 
    • Be an industry Thought Leader - Constantly look for ways to up-skill and familiarize yourself with business related developments and enhancements in the industry. Constantly seek ways to improve the training experience and share your ideas with your colleagues.
    • Coach and Develop our Trainees and new Employees - Provide additional support to the new agents during the first full month throughout our training phases and into full production. Identify development gaps of Trainees and new agents to assist their managers with helping our new employees achieve optimal performance. Provide ongoing feedback to the recruitment team to assist in the improvement of the calibre of future hires. 
    • Reporting and Assessments - Conducts and submits Skills Gap Analysis reports for existing staff as required. Submit daily reports. Prepare candidates for tests and assessments

    Requirements

    • Matric / Grade 12 
    • Minimum of 1 year training or management experience preferably in a Contact Centre environment.
    • Coaching experience is essential.
    • Training / Coaching qualification advantageous.
    • Ability to work flexible shifts.
