    Category Planning Executive - Bryanston

    Position Summary

Perfection is at the heart of what we do, and our people are always looking for the next big idea to cement our status. We are now looking for a CATMAN Planning Executive to be based in Bryanston. 

    In this role you will be responsible to Building expert knowledge in key categories, consult with CDT to translating Shopper insights into operational activation strategies and sharing this with the Customers, Sales & Marketing teams.

    A day in the life of a CATMAN Planning Executive:

    • Support in the development & execution of Picture of Success (PiCOS).
    • Work with CDT on developing the Picture of Success model across all Nestle categories.
    • Analyze various sources of customer and shopper data and use category insights to provide recommendation on ranging, flow, shelf optimization, shopper navigation at shelf, forward share, secondary placements, hot spots, and layout plans by category.
    • Data sources include Shoprite Rex, Spar Insights, PnP Smart Shopper, AC Nielsens, Shopper Research (CI Team), Data Orbis, SAP, Trade Intelligence.

    Customer Engagement (Formalized planograms)

    • Supporting in delivering category growth objectives by assisting sales in building long term sustainable winning instore category strategies (support and develop the sales team)
    • Engage with key customers and customize strategy based on customer dynamics (Channel, classifications of store clusters, regional biases, store size).
    • Support the CATMAN Manager in meetings with customers and support them with building strategy in line with category growth (eg Spar SCOPs). This includes eCommerce (Pure Players and Brick and Clicks) customers.

    Field Sales Team Engagement (Informal planograms)

    • Deliver category growth by assisting sales in building long term sustainable winning instore category strategies (support and develop the sales team)
    • Engage with Nestle Area Business development managers and customize strategy based on customer dynamics (Channel, classifications of store clusters, regional biases, store size)
    • Support in CATMAN meetings with the regions and support them with executing Picture of Success. This includes support in Cluster 5 countries and eCommerce customers.

    Distribution Centre Manager

    Position Summary

    • Manage the staff of the warehouse to safely deliver the optimum service level performance for the most cost-effective outcome.
    • Be accountable for the development of people and the provision of a competitive and compliant distribution center operation that will meet the requirements of all business units, customers and consumers

    A day in the life of a Distribution Center Manager:

    • Set adequate target values for warehousing service and cost KPIs and keep continuously tracked KPIs close to the target values by:
    • Ensuring the delivery of excellent service at minimum cost to serve driving governance around the planning of customer loads to avoid loss on sale
    • Correctly setting and monitoring of cost, service and compliance KPI’s
    • Managing the labor in the DC - Solving adequately any occurring issue in DC operations
    • Ensuring, in collaboration with regional and national stakeholders, that a suitable distribution operation is defined
    • Implement, managing, monitoring, meeting and/or exceeding SHE, Quality, CARE and Best Practices obligations
    • Implementing NCE
    • Adapting to changes in the logistics and/or market environment by ensuring an adequate level of flexibility of structures and processes
    • Ensure cross functional alignment through pro-active communication, transparency, and collaboration with internal and external customers
    • Drive cost saving initiatives to improve performance and cost of the warehouse operation. Also ensure the correct construction, control and management of the budget for warehousing (cost budget for warehousing and possible investment requirements)
    • Negotiate contracts as per Procure to Pay process and establish a sound relationship with the service providers including conflict management
    • Influence Distribution Management and Customer Service in order to continuously improve service and cost through:
    • Regular communication that will keep customers and CS updated to manage proactively
    • Collaboration with Customers and other functional departments (customer service, transportation, factories) to ensure freshness and avoidance of bad goods
    • Selection of the right people, constant engagement, motivation and management of the team.
    • Ensure maintenance of the building and warehouse equipment
    • Assist Value Stream Design which will identify areas of improvement. Support and help LEAN roll out, ensuring that a continuous improvement culture is developed and sustained

    What will make you successful

    • Relevant Degree/Diploma in Supply Chain/ Logistics or/an Operations
    • Not less than 5 years relevant and successful operational experience in a leadership role at market/ business environment. Warehouse & Transport management or related experience in any other relevant senior Supply Chain leadership role
    • Relevant operational experience at market/ business level, in the following areas is beneficial:
    • Customer Service, Demand & Supply Planning, Sales
    • Finance:  Business Planning, budget control, cost management
    • Technical and Production
    • Purchasing
    • Experience in the management of projects such as:
    • Distribution Network Redesign
    • High Performance Logistics
    • Customer Logistics
    • Desirable to have worked in a Lean organization and/or experience in lean tools and management

    Category Accounts Manager

    Position Summary

    In this role you will be responsible for developing and implementing annual customer plans that are aligned with the overall business and customer objectives & strategies, while achieving profitable sales objectives.

    Customer Planning & Management:

    • Develops an understanding of the customer (organisation, strategy, business plans, cost structures, KPIs and key personnel).
    • Develop & Execute annual plans to achieve business and customer objectives by developing clear objectives and tactics that are aligned to the integrated commercial plan (ICP). Aligns the customer plan with relevant stakeholders internally and obtains needed functional support for executing it.
    • Work cross functionally to identify, prioritise and develop commercial initiatives that meet the needs of the consumer, shopper, customer and Nestle. Ensure plans are informed through an understanding of Shopper, Channel & Customer strategy.
    • Sets clear selling goals using SMART objectives for the selling agenda of any topic (e.g. category growth projects, pricing, promotion, placing initiatives, new product launches and in-store communication).
    • With guidance from CBM, partner Joint Business planning with customers to develop and establish mutually agreed business objectives and plans with shared responsibility and lead the execution thereof.

    Drive Sustainable Profitable growth:

    • Understands and uses the different sales and profit levers (e.g. product mix, pricing, promotional strategy, customer mix and differentiation) to drive sustainable profitable growth for both Nestlé and the customer.
    • Understands the impact of trade spend investments on sales and profitability and optimises them utilising simulation scenarios and ROI analysis (e.g. Pre-Post promo evaluation).

    Ensure compliance to Pricing strategies

    • Ensure effective planning & management of trade spend to limit impacts on dispute management
    • Manage Customer bad goods, overdues and daily sales outstanding
    • Effectively negotiate trade activitities that promotes sustainable agreements through the various sales and profit levers (product mix, space, customer mix and differentiation) 
    • Ensure effective planning & management of trade spend to limit impacts on dispute management
    • Understand and manage the total value chain to create competitive gaps, and to eliminate waste and drive sustainable profitable growth for both Nestle and the customer.
    • Understands all the facts available before entering into negotiations and questions and listens effectively to develop a comprehensive understanding of the other party’s position.

    Drive Excellence in Execution:

    • Ensure alignment with CCSD & Field sales on the Execution of Annual customer plans
    • Create and effectively communicate actions for execution by defining clear ownership and deadlines for all involved - Picture of success and regular updates on the same
    • Ensure there are clear evaluation and follow-up plans before entering into execution"

    What will make you successful

    • Commercial Degree or equivalent 
    •  At least 2 years in Field Sales, Account Management, Business Development.
    • Experience in Sales or Marketing
    • FMCG and/or Wholesale experience (in channel and category development), Key account management, CCSD, Sales Operations and marketing. 
    • Demonstrated success in previous roles.
