    Junior Fashion Designer

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Trend research for merchandisers buying trip.
    • Trend presentation preparation and presenting to customer (Assisting the Merchandiser).
    • Photographing and numbering of overseas samples onto Swift.
    • Buyers briefing with the Merchandiser.
    • Create and load buyer briefs onto Swift.
    • Brief the factories over email.
    • Prepare & send all swatches, samples, etc needed for factory to execute the style in briefing.
    • Brief additional packaging and information pertaining to each style.
    • Cad overview to be emailed to factories confirming they have received all the briefs.
    • Send a copy of the original brief with original sample (if needed) along with colour swatches for lab dipping to supplier.
    • Checking of factory samples and lab dips against the brief (Merchandiser to be shown).
    • Prepare copies of updated customer cad overviews for each customer to accompany customer production delivery reports (from Coordinator).
    • Communication between customer and supplier on design/brief/colour/artwork.
    • New developments.
    • Weekly Cad overview updates by style/program/customer.
    • Updating packaging booklets every season.
    • Returning and monitoring of overseas samples not used by customers.
    • Filing of overseas samples/showing samples/meeting samples.
    • Rails cleaned at the end of every season i.e. fit samples, rail samples, duplicates, etc (team effort).

    Requirements:

    • Min 1-2 years experience in a similar role.
    • Relevant qualification.
    • Must be able to CAD.
    • Must be proficient on illustrator.
    • Experience with lingerie & sleepwear advantageous.
    • Design portfolio required to view for consideration.

    • Bachelor degree -Electro-mech /Mechanical Engineering /Electrical Engineering
    • +5 years post qualification experience (preferably in a manufacturing field – FMCG advantageous)

    Job Description

    • Implement and manage maintenance strategies across 2 manufacturing sites
    • Lead and manage a team of technicians, through site maintenance supervisors - 2 manufacturing sites, 11 team members
    • Manage technician task load, performance and work quality
    • Create and implement team training and upskilling plans
    • Preform maintenance tasks as required
    • Preform project tasks as required
    • Work together with Operations Managers to ensure manufacturing KPI’s are achieved
    • Improve and report on MTTR and MTBF
    • Manage and build relationships with sub-contractors, equipment suppliers and service providers
    • Strict stock management of critical spares
    • Manage the control and standards of the workshop equipment and housekeeping
    • Implementation and planning of preventative maintenance schedules
    • Implement and maintain health and safety procedures
    • Initiate, cost, and manage critical improvement projects across all operations areas
    • Create cost savings and efficiency improvement project plans for approval
    • Submit and present monthly maintenance and project update reports
    • Manage and accountable to annual repairs and maintenance budget
