    Accountant, Real Estate ​

    • ​​This is a position suitable for candidates preferably with more than 2 years’ experience from a directly related position in a similar quality organization or from an audit background, ideally with some real estate experience. The ideal candidate will be a professional accountant with a recognized professional qualification, have a strong academic background and be highly numerate with drive and enthusiasm, which is compatible with the organization as a whole.​

    Key Responsibilities

    • Preparation of monthly and quarterly financial reporting in accordance with client deadlines;
    • Complete all aspects of accounting matters for the portfolio, including monthly/quarterly NAVs, the preparation, reconciliation and proofing of investor reports, statutory financial statements (IFRS & FRS102) and ad-hoc investor queries;
    • Adhere to all reporting deadlines for monthly, quarterly and annual reports;
    • Liaise with the auditors to complete routine audit queries;
    • Review periodic bank reconciliations and supporting documentation evidencing transactions;
    • Maintain accurate records on Yardi/ NavOne and Caseware/Excel working paper schedules for all aspects of accounting;
    • Deal with the preparation and reconciliation of periodic direct and indirect tax returns;
    • For specific client entities, particularly those which own real estate assets, review/prepare and submit VAT and CIS returns and liaise with HMRC as necessary;
    • Assist and support the induction, integration, and training of junior staff.
    • Maintain and Monitor task list to ensure completion on a timely basis, under supervision of your superior;
    • Effectively manage workload, complete daily work and allocated project work as needed; and
    • Effectively communicate the status of workload to superiors as appropriate.
    • Ensure accurate and timely recording of personal time in line with group procedures; and
    • Ensure time records are up to date at all times.
    • Maintain confidentiality and security in terms of client affairs and papers;
    • Develop and maintain good staff relations generally within the team and wider Company;
    • Ensure that all work is conducted in accordance with Company internal procedures;
    • Monitor your own performance against personal and development targets;
    • Ensure compliance with the Company’s professional conduct, quality and ethical standards;
    • Identify areas where further training is required and bring these to the attention of the Team’s management;
    • Consider regulatory issues at all times and report any concerns to management as appropriate.​

    Power Platform Developer

    Role summary

    • We have an opportunity in our Cape Town office for a Power Platform Developer to lead our digitization plans across the Group and are looking for a technology enthusiast who is passionate about developing innovative solutions within the Power Platform environment to help Altum stand out as a leading business in our marketplace.
    • The role would suit someone with a high level of competence and familiarity with Microsoft Power Platform, ideally with additional knowledge of Office 365, Azure, and Copilot.

    Key responsibilities

    • Responsible for designing, developing, testing and maintaining applications using the Microsoft Power Platform tools and services to digitize business operations. Including:
    • Analyzing business requirements and translating them into functional and technical specifications for Power Platform solutions.
    • Developing and configuring Power Apps, Power Automate flows, Power BI dashboards and reports, power virtual agents, and other components using best practices and standards.
    • Developing interfaces with our core business systems (NavOne, Allvue, RiskScreen) to enable the seamless and automated transfer of data throughout the technology environment.
    • Testing, debugging, and troubleshooting Power Platform solutions and ensuring their quality, performance and security.
    • Act as a Product Owner for Altum Pulse, helping to shape and evolve the roadmap and extend the operational scope of the application.
    • Liaising with business stakeholders to identify opportunities to utilize Pulse to address / improve existing or arising requirements.
    • Assuming responsibility for scoping, prioritizing, and managing the technical development stack in order to deliver against the agreed roadmap.
    • Staying abreast of Power Platform / wider technology developments to progress the functional capabilities of the application, and the end user experience.
    • Collaborating with other team members on a variety of projects and initiatives to ensure that the impacts and opportunities for Altum Pulse are considered.
    • Adhere to and uphold the governance and change management principles of Altum Technology and support the effective adoption of change within the business.
    • Documenting, deploying, and managing Power Platform solutions in line with Altum’s change management framework.
    • Providing technical support and guidance to end users and stakeholders on Power Platform features and functionalities.
    • Liaise with third parties such as external IT service providers, software vendors, and other parties as required, to further integration opportunities or escalate issues as required.​

    Skills, Knowledge, and Experience

    To be successful in this role, the candidate must have a good standard of oral and written English, along with the following skills and experience:

    • A university degree in computer science, information systems, or similar.
    • At least three to five years’ experience within a Technology department, working with Microsoft Power Platform and Microsoft 365 tools.
    • Possess or working towards Microsoft Certification PL-900 Power Platform.
    • Strong familiarity with MS SQL, Dataverse or similar database systems.
    • A deep understanding of Microsoft fundamentals with regard to identity management, security and strategy for the 365 product suite.
    • Demonstrable experience of process automation.
    • Experience working within a formalized governance framework.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with minimal supervision.
    • Excellent communication, problem-solving and analytical skills.
    • Experience with NavOne or Allvue systems is a distinct advantage, but not a requirement.

    • Staying abreast of developments in AI to progress the functional capabilities, extend the business use cases, and improve the end user experience.
    • Develop an approach for a unified data structure to support the ongoing management, reporting, and analysis of data within Altum Group.
    • Promote data integrity through the use of automated data flows, designated data repositories, data ownership, and validation and reconciliation tools.
    • Enhance and extend the current reporting suite within Power BI through consolidation and aggregation of data sources, in order to drive insights and analytics.
    • Adhere to and uphold the governance and change management principles of Altum Technology and support the effective adoption of change within the business.
    • Documenting, deploying, and managing system integration solutions in line with Altum’s change management framework.

    Human Resources Officer

    Role Summary

    • The HR Officer will be a key member of the HR team, working alongside the local HR Business Partners to deliver a high-quality HR service to Altum Group’s offices across Jersey, Luxembourg and South Africa. This will be a hands-on role, suiting someone with excellent time management skills to ensure a smooth and efficient business operations. The role involves managing recruitment processes, employee relations, performance management, and compliance with HR policies and procedures.​

    Key Responsibilities

    ​Ownership of group Talent Acquisition administration which will include:

    • Posting job advertisements via internal and external channels, including the Altum Careers page, LinkedIn and other local job boards, alongside the company’s intranet page;
    • Responsibility for the scheduling and coordination of interviews, including liaising with hiring managers and candidates regarding availability and updating calendars accordingly; and
    • Manage the candidate pipeline, including closing filled positions and providing feedback to candidates who have not been successful;

    Management of all HR administrative associated with Employee Lifecycle: 

    • Supporting the HR Business Partner with the On-Boarding process by creating employee folders and drafting offer letters and contracts of employment for their review, along with adding employees to the pre-screening portal and the PeopleHR system;
    • Assist with the leaver process, ensuring that resignations are saved on file, acknowledgement letters are drafted and issued, and that leaver details are added to the People HR system; and
    • Draft and issue standard letters using relevant templates, including amendments to terms and conditions of employment, and reference requests for former and current employees.
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records in the PeopleHR system.
    • Prepare HR reports and analytics as required.
    • Ensure compliance with company policies and legal regulations.
    • Facilitate the HR induction process.

    Ownership of Payroll & Benefits administration. This will include:

    • Adding and removing employees from Group schemes, such as private medical insurance, pension, death in service etc.
    • Building and fostering positive relationships with third party providers
    • Assist with preparing all payroll reports and making sure all payroll changes are saved in the relevant folders.

    Assist the HR Business Partner with any Employee Relations matters:

    • Drafting paperwork and attendance at meetings for the purpose of minute taking.
    • Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries and concerns.
    • Assist in resolving employee issues and conflicts.
    • Support the HR Manager in conducting investigations and disciplinary actions.​

    Assist with Training and Development:

    • Identify training needs and coordinate training programs.
    • Support the development and implementation of employee development initiatives.

    Skills, Knowledge, and Experience

    • Minimum of 3 years of experience operating in a similar role, preferably in a Financial or Professional services environment.
    • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
    • Knowledge of HR practices and labour laws.
    • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
    • Strong organizational and time management skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
