    Customs Entry Clerk

    • A well-established logistics and clearing company is seeking a detail-oriented Customs Entry Clerk to join their dynamic team. This role is ideal for someone with strong customs knowledge who thrives in a fast-paced, compliance-driven environment.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Prepare and submit customs entries for imports and exports
    • Ensure all shipments comply with customs regulations and legislation
    • Verify and manage shipping documentation including invoices, packing lists, and manifests
    • Apply correct tariff classifications and customs valuation
    • Handle customs stops, detentions, and inspections
    • Liaise with clients on import requirements such as permits and certificates of origin
    • Manage refund processes where applicable
    • Maintain accurate records and provide general administrative support

    Minimum Requirements

    • Grade 12
    • Minimum 3 years' experience in a customs clearing or similar role

    Strong knowledge of:

    • Customs tariff classification
    • Incoterms
    • Import/export processes
    • Trade agreements (e.g., SADC, EU)
    • Experience handling customs entries across multiple transport modes
    • Good computer literacy

    Preferred Experience

    • Exposure to customs systems (e.g., GTS or similar)
    • Experience in a high-volume clearing environment
    • Strong client engagement skills
