    Site Construction Project Manager (Solar PV Systems) - JHB

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (civil or electrical).
    • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in project management in construction and electrical installation.
    • Experience in solar and/or other renewable energy projects would be an advantage
    • Solid understanding of solar PV systems and owner's engineering services would be advantageous
    • Familiarity with industry design and construction standards, practices, and specifications.
    • Solid understanding of safety, environmental and quality regulations and standards in the construction industry.
    • Excellent project management skills, including planning, organizing, and resource allocation. Evidence of technical competence, self-motivation, flexibility, and problem-solving approach.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients, stakeholders, and team members, be a customer-centric thinker.
    • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines without compromising quality.
    • Professional certifications: Must have Project Management Professional (PMP) certification. Certified Energy Manager (CEM) or similar credentials will provide an added advantage.
    • Proficient in using project management tools (MS Project or Primavera) and software for scheduling, cost tracking, and reporting.IT skills particularly MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

    JOB SPECIFICATION

    Responsibilities

    • Understanding clients' objectives and requirements and ensuring projects deliverables are aligned with their expectations.
    • Serving as the primary point of contact for clients, maintaining regular communication and addressing any concerns or inquiries.
    • Providing timely updates and progress reports to clients, ensuring their satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
    • Conducting multiple site visits to the awarded project location(s) and managing on-site teams and interacting with the customer and other project stakeholders.
    • Coordinating project activities, resources, and deliverables to ensure smooth execution.
    • Monitoring project progress, identifying, and resolving any potential issues or risks.
    • Supporting the preparation of proposals by developing comprehensive project plans, including scope, budget, and timeline.
    • Developing project plans, timelines, and budgets in collaboration with project stakeholders.
    • Implementing quality control measures to ensure that construction activities meet or exceed industry standards and project specifications.
    • Maintaining the HSE standards as per client’s standards/ Bureau Veritas standards/ industry best practice.
    • Preparing QHSE/ incidental reports.
    • Monitoring project costs and ensure adherence to the approved budget.
    • Checking and reviewing billing and invoicing raised by the EPC contractor against actual work done.
    • Supporting in permitting and licensing within the Africa / South Africa Region.
    • Supporting in supply chain (elaborate the responsibilities and manage suppliers)
    • Supporting in the construction management (coordinating with contractors) contributing to a smooth handover to owner.

    Lifting Machinery Inspector - JHB

    Minimum Requirements and Skills

    • Minimum 5 years with similar role experience in relation to the Lifting Machinery Industry.
    • Lifting Machinery Inspector (LMI) Registered with ECSA (Engineering Council of South Africa) and qualification in any technical trade.
    • Advanced knowledge of Driven Machinery Regulations 18(5) and Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Act.
    • Knowledge ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001.
    • Experience in engineering or manufacturing industries with exposure to Operations in an international environment.
    • Able to carry out several tasks concurrently and deliver timely,
    • Teamwork & Communication: fluent in English oral and written, open to support others, Open mind and willing to learning new skills,
    • Proficiency in using computer (usual MS suite: Word, Excel, PPT, Outlook…), experience in writing procedures or reports is an advantage.

    Job Specification

    • Carry out inspection and testing work to industry specifications, whether on site or in workshops.
    • Perform load tests as per OHSACT requirements. Complete necessary paperwork in line with set procedures industry specifications.
    • Assisting with repairs and servicing of lifting equipment where required.
    • Working in a fast-paced office environment completing administration work.
    • Able to pick up new systems quickly that may be very technical.
    • Adhering to regulations surrounding health and safety, quality, and environmental protection.
    • Travelling between different sites and workshops to work on common bits of construction kitTo market these facilities within capabilities and visit customers on a regular basis as required.
    • To initiate and maintain a realistic costing system for Sales and Marketing and work within allocated budgets.
    • To convene and manage symposia, exhibitions, seminars and conferences in terms of Bureau Veritas Brand awareness and promotion of various business units.
    • To deliver and execute presentations to current and prospective detailing business scope of practice including project specific detailing.
    • To maintain confidentiality of all Bureau Veritas Group information.

    VoC Coordinator Route BC - JHB

    Minimum Requirements

    • Grace 12
    •  Knowledge of VOC programs (last 2 months) in VOC procedures or equivalent
    •  PC skills – Microsoft office
    •  Basic knowledge about product conformity assessments
    • Master review of conformity documents
    • Analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Ability to deal with difficult situations.
    • English proficiency
    • Effective verbal, listening and written communication skills
    • Having the necessary knowledge and experience to reflect BV values to his/her environment and to the customers, being able to represent BV

    Job Specification

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Verification of Quality Documents as per the procedures and country requirements.
    • VoC Coordinator are responsible for the efficient and timely execution of the expertise assigned. It includes the responsibility of complying with the local IO CBCA (VOC) Expertise procedure (GSIT RSA IO 113) procedure, section 3.3.
    •  Implementation of VOC procedures and instructions
    • Follow-up of VOC procedures and check quality of workflow.
    • Documents comparison – review client’ s invoice against the statement of registration or license, ensure items on the invoice matches the registration or license
    • Confirmation of the products and shipments are subject to the program
    •  Give instructions for certificate issuance (if any specific comment or care is needed)
    •  Knowledge of Siebel
    •  Acquisition and maintenance of a good knowledge of the VOC market.
    •  Coordination with Senior Technical officers for VOC activities
    •  Continuous acquisition and maintenance of technical knowledge of the VOC procedures/specific applicable for different programmes
    • Reporting of discrepancies and difficulties met in reaching quality goals / time schedules to Senior Technical Officers or VOC Manager.
    •  Perform additional tasks as and when required by Management
