What are we looking for?

- An appropriate academic and professional qualification from a recognised tertiary institution.
- At least five years’ experience as a Foundation Phase Head or Phase Head.
- Current SACE registration.
- IEB experience.

The responsibilities are:
- Working together with the executive head and school leadership to ensure high standards of teaching and learning practice.
- Performing the duties of a teacher and phase head.
- Promoting a healthy process of reciprocal informal observation of class teaching practices.
- Advising and contributing to curriculum development at school.
- Coordinating the teaching and learning of the phase.
- Setting examination papers, coordinating marking rosters and moderating examinations and assessment processes.
- Mentoring other teachers in the phase.
- Holding and leading regular departmental meetings and ensuring the keeping of minutes.
- Involvement in school activities.
- Actively assisting the executive head in ensuring good professional practice, standards, and quality of teaching and learning of subject/s in the school through proper dialogue with the class teachers.
