    Production Operations - Learner - JHB

    Core Responsibilities:

    Production Operation

    • Under supervision of more experienced Operator/Leader, perform basic operation of designated machines and production equipment such as (one of the following): blenders, sieves, spray dryer systems, batching systems, multipurpose reactors,spinning cone column, bulk tanks, Roxane robots, packaging systems, ovens, mills,distillation columns (stills), encapsulation systems.
    • Common tasks involve one of the following activities:
    • Blending,mixing,dispensing, packaging, heating,cooking, adding enzymes, compounding, filtering.
    • Collect intermediates or raw materials, move and load it into production machines.
    • Understand bill of materials and/or formula specifications, so the proper quantities of materials are added in the proper sequence.
    • Manufacture product in a safe and timely manner and according to predefined process instructions to meet specificquality standards.
    • Accurately read control instruments, prepare neat & accurate records for all operations as required.
    • Troubleshoot problems under guidance of more experienced Operator or provide assistance.
    • Assist in performing in-process quality testing to ensure customer specifications are met. You will identify deviations and document / communicate them in compliance with Standard Operating Procedures.
    • Prepare product packaging for next step in production or for final shipment to customer according to department specifications.
    • Maintain neat, orderly and clean shop floor and workplace at all times and complete all sanitation and housekeeping duties as required.
    • Work in accordance with all relevant requirements including, but not limited to GMP, AIB, OSHA, HACCP, FDA, USDAand internal safety guidelines
    • Process Improvement
    • Proactively identify process improvements.
    • Participate in Lean activities in designated areas.
    • You will also be required to attend class and successfully complete your learnership program.

    • Grade 12 / Matric with Maths and Science
    • Forklift operation skills preferred.
    • Technical Skills
    • Basic math, reading and recordkeeping skills.
    • Basic PC skills, including competency in MS Office products.

    T&W SAMEA Regional Manager - Transfers, Tolling & BCP

    In this exciting role, you will be responsible for -

    Transfer activities:

    • Leads the implementation of ‘In the Region for the Region’ Transfer strategy.
    • Coach and support local transfer managers through transfer feasibility, planning and execution.
    • Maintain regular drumbeat with local transfer managers and promote best practices.
    • Work with multiple partners from Commercial, Quality, T&WCA, Regulatory and Operations.
    • Ensure reporting of transfer progress according to defined Transfer indicators.
    • Identify and develop inter-regional synergies.
    • Train new transfer managers and site transfer stakeholders on using PTT and its related activities.

    Tolling activities:

    • Lead and implement the Global Strategic Tolling Strategy in SAMEA.
    • Lead Tolling best practices across SAMEA.
    • Provide leadership to SAMEA sites on Toller Management and ensure control in all important aspects.
    • Sourcing of Toller to ensure alignment with the SAMEA master plan strategy and business requirements, including the creation and submission of business cases
    • Provide alignment on the Tolling strategy and its correlation with the SAMEA plant's capacity availability.
    • Important contact for Commercial to provide directives on how tolling will be implemented.

    Operations Risk Management and Business Continuity Planning (ORM/BCP):

    • Leads the implementation of production site recovery plans within the SAMEA region with the local team's assessment/ reporting of main risks to the global ORM platform
    • Consolidate site needs related to BCP (CAPEX project, certification, etc.) and follow up actions with sites
    • Lead responses to customer requests on BCP and preparation of BCP for top businesses at a regional level
    • Promote a regional network of BCP leaders and help develop ORM/BCP mindset within the SAMEA region

    Your professional profile includes:

    • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or a relevant discipline. 
    • 10+ years of relevant and progressive work experience in supply chain management or operations or project management, preferably in international work environments. 
    • Experience in Tolling & Transfer Management.
    • Excellent project management and change management skills. 
    • Comfortable in working and collaborating with diverse teams and cultures. 
    • Excellent oral and written proficiency in the English language. Knowledge of additional languages will be advantageous but not mandatory. 
    • Able to travel within the SAMEA region as required.

    CSI Manager - JHB

    As a part of our team, your influence will be:

    • Ensure that CSI projects and initiatives undertaken fit with the overall segment / area business strategy and priorities
    • Scope and define CSI project plans, designs, timelines and budget according to overall project objectives and key stakeholder expectations
    • Lead the successful execution of CSI projects by effectively leveraging different research approaches where relevant (i.e.sensory science, consumer sensory etc.), managing external research partners and internal constituents
    • Proactively leverage secondary research data and information to supplement primary research and effectively monitor trends in how markets, categories and consumers are evolving

    What are we looking for?

    • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Engineering and related fields
    • Experience in consumer & sensory insights for food and FMCG industries;
    • Proficient in English.
